Paranoid Android (Radiohead cover) Lyrics

Please can you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices in my head
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)

When I am king, you will be first against the wall
(with) your opinion which is of no consequence at all
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Kicking, squealing gucci little piggy
You don't remember
You don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?
Off with his head, man
Off with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name? I guess he does...

Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

That's it sir
You're leaving
The crackle of pigskin
The dust and the screaming
The yuppies networking
The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!

I'm not sure what this song means. And I know it's a Radiohead cover, but it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Sorry there, White Willow, Bazket Kaze. I just heard this cover, and I will never play it ever again. Sia probably meant well with the cover, but I feel as if a great injustice has been lain upon this awe-inspiring Radiohead track. Maybe if she sung in a constant, strong voice, and the musical backing was more supportive. It feels amateurish, and the music is... Distant, is the best way to put it. I just can't see much appeal to the cover. I would always choose Radiohead over Sia here.

I do know what you mean - I do feel a sense of duty to claim that this is blasphamy against the Radiohead original - but I just think that the ending is so beautiful. The rest is sub-standard, but from 'rain down' I really like.

No matter which version you prefer, you all have to admit that the piano entry at the first "What's that..." is fucking gorgeous.

Okay, I used to just browse this site out of curiousity, but when I read all these interpretations, I had to have my say. During the period this song was written, most artists made their bread by describing isolation, anxiety and depression in metaphore. See; Nirvana, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, ect... I strongly believe this song is another 90's era study in youth angst. You feel unappreciated individuality, (...why don't you remember my name?) fear of judgement (when I am king...your opinion, which is of no consequence...) and a desire to kill/punish those who are too dull to see your ideas, your value as a human (Ambition makes you look pretty ugly, kicking, squealing gucci little piggy,) Which culminates into this imaginative and burning ("the crackle of pig skin", perhaps refering to the ceremonial burning of our Gucci little piggy?) And I imagine the guilt of condemning those who condemned him cause the antagonist pain and confusion and relief. (Rain down on me...God loves His children...) But then, I could be overthinking the whole thing. ;) ISA
