Prelude 3.0 Lyrics

I don't know why, I never told you
I don't know why, I never tried
Well we shared these bits of skins again (skins again)
All the reasons come to life

And now it's over
And now it's over
And now it's over
And now it's over

I don't know why, you never asked me
I don't know why, you never cared
When we hide these little sins again (sins again)
All the reasons have to die

But now its over
And now it's over
And now it's over
And now it's over

AND NOW ITS OVER!
AND NOW ITS OVER!
AND NOW ITS OVER!
AND NOW ITS OVER!

To me this song is about a guy who is reminscing a relationship that ended a while ago and he still isn't over it. He keeps playing back the what ifs, the if he could have talked to her and helped her, but in the end he feels like the relationships a forgotten memory and is having a hard time accepting it.

I think i may be wrong... o well

I think this is about, along with duality (the state of being two things at once) the change in music, its about how people always doubted them. "I don't know why, you never asked me I don't know why, you never cared " here he is saying that no one ever thought he could accually sing, no one thought they could do anything but the pounding, ear blasting sounds they have, (which i love just as much as this new album). Don't doubt what you don't know.

this is the best opening to an album ever!!You also got the lyrics wrong, when we shed these bitter skins again.Altho,im likin the sharing of skin idea..

I think this song is about Slipknot's evolution musically - shedding their "bitter skins again" about how they change musical style with each album, and hiding "little sins again" by covering the hidden hateful meanings throughout their older songs with a new style. "But now it's over" meaning they have abandoned that branch of their roots and are now looking forwards to a more 3-dimensional way of getting their messages across. It's a kickass opening, fitting for such an almost flawless album!

WTF?? This has nothing to do with britney spears!

And as for the stuff about IOWA, IOWA was their best album in my view

This song could be about suicide (I agree with lip gloss and ashes). and i dont think that from the lyrics, i think that from the NOOOOOO at the end, you can hear the pain in coreys voice you can hear it, the desperation. but you people always interperet songs by lyrics. im not saying thats a bad thing but its not open minded enough to get the full understanding of this song, yes maybe with another band but not slipknot. slipknots song can be interpreted musically too, they are reveolutionary and they dont need words to explain what the hell they are talking about. be more open minded and listen to the song, ignoring the lyrics so you can feel the song's personallity. maybe im crazy but maybe some of you know what im talking about, any true maggots anyways. their songs are so bipolar, amazing, true, and beautiful. listen to vermillion, vermillion part 2 and prelude and you can defenitly feel the song through their intruments not just their lyrics. you cant do it with jsut one insturment you need the whole damn band together and they make this massive story like thing in their songs.

...I think he was inlove with a girl who didn't know he loved her "I don't know why I never told you..." Then I think he became very depressed but and had thoughts about suicide "and now its over (the first time its said) then he gets over it, sheds his past life and such and sees things in a whole new light and becomes a better person...w.e that's just I think...this is an excellent intro to the new album...
