i think this song is a little bit about bashin bush, but i'm not even gonna begin to talk about that. i believe this song is about how there is much chaos in the world right now and how that people believe money and religion can solve everything, but it can't. song rocks, new warehouse woo indeed.

i definitely agree with bryantsmith41. dave is one of the most prolific bush-haters in the country and his participation in the vote for change tour proves that even further. in the versions ive heard, he says: "my name is clean cause i scrub it good guns and gasoline can save the world nothing to see if we only close our eyes boys and girls welcome to this joyride"

its obvious that hes talking about the "joyride" that bush has our country in. the wars and the corruption are what he talks about in the refrain. the meaning is just another reason for me to love this song though. i cant wait to hear it live again. WOO!

I love to listen to Dave bust out the scat. He's really damn good at it and busts it out like a mad man.

DMBFan418, I am glad you posted this. I kept thinking I was hearing Dave say my name is clean; but all of the lyrics say money is clean. The Golden Gate Park version of Joy Ride really sounds like "My Name is clean". I definately think they are talking about the current war.
