Don't Bring Me Down Lyrics
I'm listening to you breathing in and breathing out
Needing nothing
You're honey dipped
You are beautiful, floating clouds, soft world
I can't feel my lips
I'm going down, going down the drain
Don't bring me down, I beg you
Don't bring me down, I won't let you
Don't bring me down
We are one
Your face becomes the sun
And I'm addicted to the joy that the little things
Those little things
The little things they bring
I'm going down, going down the drain
I'm going down, going down the drain
Don't bring me down, I won't let you
Don't bring me down, I beg you
Don't bring me down, don't let me
Don't bring me down,
Don't bring me down, I won't let you
Don't bring me down,
And so I fight a war, in my head
Stay the night, protect me
I watched a documentary on youtube called "The making of Colour the Small One"-(awesome, watch it if you get a chance) and Sia herself says that this song is about a bad comedown off ectascy-about the lonliness, and about being the last person to comedown, and when you do everyone else is asleep and you just can't rest.... For me personally, I can relate to this on so many levels, for me, on first listening I interpreted it as the struggle you feel in a realtionship where it's destructive, but you don't want to let go.The first verse to me desribes the way she feels about the person, and how it effects her; You're honey dipped You are beautiful, floating clouds, soft world I can't feel my lips
and how the whole thing is actually ruining her: I'm going down, I don't want to change I'm going down, going down the drain
-losing yourself, losing your identity, feeling like your life is going down the drain, veering off track.
Don't bring me down, I beg you Don't bring me down, I won't let you Don't bring me down- the feeling of helplessness, begging this person not to destroy her, but internally, never voicing it out loud. And then being at a crossroads; "So now for restless mind, I could go either way" She could detroy herself or save herself, and she doesn't have a clue how its going to pan out....
For me the ectascy story and the fucked up relationship story run parralell to eachother, so the whole song feels very apt.
How can ther be no comments on this song .. It's really good! nobody knows sia!!!! peooplee shes frikking talented!!!
Yes indeed; so talented that she defies spelling
Holly frigg people comment it makes me really sad ! this song is sooo sweet!
Great song. Remembers me special person...
this song is about giving into temptation. its beautiful.
The first verse is one of my most favourite ever. So intense and fragile and beautiful.
This song... WOW!! The second I hear it I get goosebumps...
For me, it's the first time I've ever read words that could possibly describe your first time having sex, something so seemingly indescribable. It's so hard to write about something like that without sounding cheesy and the lyrics of this song just do it for me.
I love the way she describes the persons hesitance and ultimate descent into temptation... incredible.
I know Sia may have intended for the song to mean something else, but I suppose each to their own... We all take something different from it.
