I hope you're doing fine out there without me
Cause I'm not doing so good without you
The things I thought you'd never know about me
Were the things I guess you always understood
So how could I have been so blind for all these years
This I only see the truth through all this fear living without you

And anything I have in this world
And all that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me

I can't take another day without you
'Cause, baby, I could never make it on my own
I've been waiting so long just to hold you
And to be back in your arms where I belong
I'm sorry I can't always find the words to say
Everything I've ever known gets swept away
Inside of your love

And anything I have in this world
And all that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me

As the days roll on I see
Some is standing still for me
And you're not here
I'm sorry I can't always find the words to say
Everything I've ever known gets swept away
Inside of your love

And anything I have in this world
And all that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me

And anything I have in this world
And all that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me

WOW. Without a doubt my favorite song on this CD and arguably favorite of all their songs, right up there with Away From the Sun. From the opening lines, "I hope you're doing fine out there without me, cause I'm not doing so good without you" i was hooked. Never in my life have I heard a song express my feelings so perfectly at the perfect time. I almost cried listening to this song, and that says something, 'cause I'm a very thick-skinned, stoic guy. Three Doors Down is an amazing band. BTW wildrose, the singer's name is Brad Arnold, and I agree that he is a great singer, one of the best in rock today.

Every time I hear this song I get chills.

Mostly when Brad sings, "I've been waiting so long just to hold you and to be back in your arms where I belong"

Perfect song for when you miss someone and you finally realize that they are not 15 minutes down the street anymore... but possible months or years away.

One of the best songs on the cd, along with 'Landing in London'. Very meaningful lyrics.

I think this and Landing in London will be a close tie to be the "Here Without You" of this cd! Great song...I fell in love with it right away!

What a beautiful song! My best friend is studying abroad this semester in Norway and this song pretty much sums up what I'm feeling because I miss her so much.

One of the best songs by them PERIOD. It has some meaning behind it to me. Certain things sum up some of my life.

This song has so much heart poured into it - it really is beautiful. I was listening to the whole 17 days CD, and when Here by me came on i was blown away. Its such a powerful song, and the vocalist (sorry i dont know his name) sounds as though he really believes what hes singing- which these days is rare to listen to. Almost like closing your eyes and feeling his pain. Im actually quite speechless - this has completely put me right out. LOVE THIS SONG. Man its wicked.......

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
