Lift me up on my honour
Take me over this spell
Get this weight of my shoulder
I carried it well
Loose these shackles of pressure
Shake me out of these chains
Lead me not to temptation
Hold my hand harder
Ease my mind
Roll down the smokescreen
And open the sky

Let me fly
Then I need a release from
These troubles of mine
Fix my feet
When they're stumbling
And well you know it hurts sometimes
You know it's going to bleed sometimes

Dig me out from this thorn tree
Help me bury my shame
Keep my eyes from the fire
They can't handle the flame
They've cut out from my brothers
When most of them fail
I carried it well

Let me fly
Then I need a release from
These troubles of mine
Fix my feet
When they're stumbling
I guess you know it hurts sometimes
You know it's going to bleed sometimes

Now hold on
I'm not looking for sweet talk
I'm looking for time
Time for towering sweet folk
Brother 'cause it hurts sometimes
You know it's going to bleed sometimes
Hold on

You know it's going to hurt sometimes
When you call me

Hold on
Hold on
Hold on

I'm going to climb that symphony home
And make it mine
And this pleasure is mine
Mark my way
See all these pessimistic sufferers
Tend to drag me down
So I could use it to shelter
What good I've found

God this song is so beautiful. It wasn't until I listened to it a few times did I realize just how beautiful it is and how amazing the lyrics are. Brandon is such a beautiful writer. It really seems to be about his own struggles, burdens and temptations that have been weighing on his mind.

He's asking his significant other or perhaps God, to be there and ground him harder and to keep him on the straight and narrow. "Hold my hand harder,Ease my mind." The lifestyle of rock and roll is quite hedonistic but it seems he is trying hard to resist all its temptations but he really needs this person or being's help, stability and guidance.

Flying is finally being free from all these inner conflicts in his conflicted mind.

"Fix my feet when they're stumbling. And well you know it hurts sometimes. You know it's gonna bleed sometimes." Here, he seems to be talking to his significant other and telling her that he really needs her to be there for him, to be strong for him and that it's not going to be easy. There's going to be a lot of hard times but he really needs her. He's done some things he's not proud of, but he needs this person/being's help in resisting temptation, the fire and perhaps everything that comes with this rock and roll lifestyle.

My absolute favorite part is: I'm gonna climb that symphony home and make it mine. Let his resonance light my way. See, all these pessimistic sufferers tend to drag me down. So, I could use it to shelter what good I've found.

This sounds somewhat religious but 'his' isn't a capitalized 'His', but it still seems to refer to the Lord as leading the way to stability and goodness. Or, actually, he could in another way be referring to himself in this passage, as resonance refers to his own musical talent and he's simply stating he's going to conquer the music world, aka "symphony home." What I love about this passage is his determination again, which is evident in so many of his lyrics, to not let others bring him down. He has so much faith in himself and he's going to simply shelter out all those negative influences in his life which drag him down. Beautiful, inspiring, and so touching.

I agree with the religious undertones. I think it just has to do with Brandon finding his religion again. He'd stated before that while he considered himself Mormon, he was "trying", as he wasn't necessarily the best example. So I think this song stands as a sort of "coming home" to his spirituality, and not just that but all those things he abandoned from earlier days.

Hold my hand harder, Ease my mind, Roll down the smoke screen, And open the sky.

i think that ^ bit is about how you just need someone to cling onto real tight, and you need to escape, from the world, and from them, but its too hard to let either go

if that makes sense at all

i think you can read into what you want. that's why his lyrics are so widely appreciated.

    if you want biblical

grace cried out to my brothers (amazing grace) fix my feet when i'm stumbling (alot of religions offer the image of God walking alongside his people) and maybe it is his resonance. but if so, i think it would be His* resonance. figure it out.

    Song Meaning

This is currently my second favorite Killer's song of all time.(Smile like You Mean It will forever be my favorite) Both these songs make my heart feel heavy inside and make me want to cry and appreciate life. At the last "hold on" I feel freed and renewed.

I love this song!! i wood say its one of my favourites from the new album but they're all good :D

    Brandon is amazing :)

my guess to the meaning is that he just got out of a relationship which he was trying so hard to keep it from falling apart but he has finally decided to let it go and free himself and even tho its hard hes trying to see the positives...

He definitely says I'm Gonna Climb That Symphony Home Not, Going to come with that symphony. Also, he doesn't say any of that stuff about the pills, but I'm not sure what he says.

    Brandon sings:

I’m gonna climb that symphony home and make it mine Let his resonance light my way See, all these pessimistic sufferers tend to drag me down So I could use it to shelter what good I’ve found

I think that's right. And it's 'Man I need a release from this troublesome mind', 'Grace cut out from my brothers, when most of them fell'. Then it's 'Top a tower and sleep walk'. I think...?
