Your Star Lyrics

I can't see your star
I can't see your star
though I patiently waited, bedside, for the death of today
I can't see your star
the mechanical lights of Lisbon frightened it away

and I'm alone now
me and all I stood for
we're wandering now
all in parts in pieces, swim lonely
find your own way out

I can't see your star
I can't see your star
how can the darkness feel so wrong?

and I'm alone now
me and all I stood for
we're wandering now
all in parts in pieces, swim lonely
find your own way out

So far away
its growing colder without your love
why can't you feel me calling your name?
can't break the silence
its breaking me

all my fears turn to rage

and I'm alone now me
and all I stood for
we're wandering now
all in parts and pieces, swim lonely
find your own way out

As much as people say this song is annoying...I think the instrumentalization in it makes up for it. Well, it would make sense if this is Terry's favorite song because the guitar's pretty damn good. The music starting from around 2:35. Very Nice. Sorry I'm focusing on the music 'stead of the lyrics, but the people here pretty much covered that part of the song.

actually, she wrote this is Lisbon when she was depressed, because she was having a bad day and then she looked out the window to see the stars but there weren't any there; thus driving her over the edge a little, i guess. it makes more sense with the terry thing. i don't know, it's what i read in an interview. either way it's pretty. :)

This song reminds me of Terry's stroke. The third line reminds me of the way someone would wait by a hospital bed for someone to wake up.

This is Terry's fav song. That's why he loves it very much. The song meaning is correct.

I love this song.

I was reading the lyrics and, I find it interesting that, in the bridge [I suppose that's what you would call it], Amy Lee sings, "Why can't you feel me calling your name?" The first time I heard it, I thought she said "hear". Question: Why does she say "feel"?

I absolutly love this song! It is one of my favorites on this album not only because of the beautiful lyrics, besides anything Amy writes is a masterpeice and most defenitly amazing, but its because the music is so dramatic and theatric. My favorite part of the song is when the piano solo. And damn can that woman sing!!! Evanescence forever!

I'm kinda glad you said that as I wondered which song Amy wrote by Terry's bedside - it makes sense now!

"I can't see your star" - meaning that he's going to survive so his star isn't there?

This song is about Amy's Sister that dude in a Car Crash when she was like 8 or something. Not Terry.

I live the line:

"why can't you feel me calling your name?"

This song is so nice and this line is especially powerful. Although many of the songs on this album have somewhat specific meanings i think they can still relate to your life in some way.

btw. this is my favorite song on the album next to Lose Control. Nice Album.

This song is about Terry's stroke?

How Amy was there for him, she thought he was going to die, if he did, his life would be like a star in the sky to her. Yet he didnt.
