Will you count me in?

I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tingles in a silly place

It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose
Where ever it goes I always know
That you make me smile, please, stay for a while now
Just take your time wherever you go

The rain is fallin' on my window pane
But we are hidin' in a safer place
Under covers stayin' dry and warm
You give me feelings that I adore

They start in my toes, make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile, please, stay for a while now
Just take your time wherever you go

But what am I gonna say?
When you make me feel this way
I just, mm

And it starts in my toes, makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I always know
That you make me smile, please, stay for a while now
Just take your time wherever you go

I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

It starts in my soul, and I lose all control
When you kiss my nose, the feelin' shows
'Cause you make me smile, baby, just take your time now
Holdin' me tight

Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever you go, I always know
'Cause you make me smile, even just for a while

the attitudes of our generation are worrying me a little bit if all we can think of is sex when we hear pop music. =( if this song had been released 10, 15 years earlier very few people would've made such interpretations.

sure, everyone is allowed to their own interpretation and everyone has their own way of relating to music, lyrics etc so what does it matter.

by the way ~ i personally get shivers down my spine & may start shaking when talking to my beloved, even when miles away =) to me - this song is about those strong feelings that cause all kinds of interesting physical reactions!

I love this song. Say what you will about orgasms, but I think it's a very honest, happy song. When I listen to this song, I feel so blissfully happy because this is exactly what I am feeling right now. He makes her happy, his face, his eyes, his smile, everything inside and outside about him.

    I just... hmm...

I don't think this song is about sex at all.

"I've been awake for a while now you got me feeling like a child now cause every time I see your bubbly face I get the tingles in a silly place"

The 'tingly' feeling she gets in a special place is similar to the giddy or heart fluttering feeling you only experience from someone who just makes you feel special in your own little unique way.

"I've been asleep for a while now you tuck me in just like a child now cause every time you hold me in your arms I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth"

When she is with this guy she feels like a little girl again. She feels secure in his arms, like no harm can be done to her, and it gives her a protective feeling of warmth.

This guy gives her feelings that no one else in the world can do, and she can feel it in her soul. At the end of the song she is saying that wherever he goes is alright because she knows how she feels about him and vice versa and it makes her smile.

That's what I get from the song.

I agree this song can mean a lot of things. I do believe that she wrote it as just a cute, loving your boyfriend, song but its fun to think of it in different ways. How about taking the title as some good wine? Once she drinks she starts to feel it affect her body, tingling her insides from head to toe, making her smile giddy. The wine is her escape "makes her feel safe" "I've been asleep for a while now you tuck me in just like a child now cause every time you hold me in your arms I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth" the wine puts her to sleep quickly like she was when she was a child.. shes feeling the warmth in her body the wine has brought her. then at the end there is a realization, that it makes her smile, "just for a while" because it will wear off eventually.. Not that I think that is what she meant at all, but just another way to look at it!

Hmmm. Why can't a song just be about being in love? Wouldn't you want someone who makes you feel, in a sense (as a child would), like the world doesn't matter? "I just...hmm." is poetic, because sometimes saying nothing is the most powerful phrase of all. "Comfortable enough to feel your warmth." I hope as children someone fell asleep in the back seat and was carried to bed by their parents- because it's that feeling of security that we only feel as children and when we're really in love. FINALLY! A song that's not about cheating on someone!!!!!!

    My Interpretation

Well, I think the song draws on both sexuality and security. The whole song represents a relationship, and how it changes as time goes by. At the start is just about sex, she feels young and gets the "tingles". The second stanza is similar, but she starts to feel safe in his presence. In the third she has fallen for him, and doesn't know what to say (hint: it's three words). By the fourth stanza, and the last rendition of the chorus, she is completely satisfied with being with him, even asleep. She now was him to take his time holding her tight.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
