Reaching for you
I know you're out there somewhere
It's too dark, I'm so cold
I know I had to come here

Every broken dream
That I leave behind
Keeps me going on
Keeps me running blind

Calling your name I hear only echoes
Searching the rain I see only shadows
You've got to show me your face
Voices, I hear them calling behind me
Phantoms of you are burning inside me
You've got to give me a sign

Fading slowly
You're drifting into darkness
I can't see, I can't think
I need to keep on searching

Every memory
Every thought of you
Is inside of me
Tells me what to do

Calling your name I hear only echoes
Searching the rain I see only shadows
You've got to show me your face
Voices, I hear them calling behind me
Phantoms of you are burning inside me
You've got to give me a sign

Can you hear me?
Am I only wasting time?
Are you near me?
Are you only in my mind?
Are you, are you?

Calling your name I hear only echoes
Searching the rain I see only shadows
You've got to show me your face
Voices, I hear them calling behind me
Phantoms of you are burning inside me
You've got to give me a sign

I don't really know why I'm the first to say something about this amazing and best song on their new album. I think they sing about the loss of a loved person and how haunting the feeling is when you lose somebody but still feel his/her appearence. Another thought I have is that it's possibly about a person that is alone and strongly desires somebody to be near. The person wonders if someone is out there who will love him/her.

    Awesome lyrics!

For some reason, I think this song goes perfectly with the "All the Things She Said" video. Anyone agree?

    My Interpretation

At first my reaction was, yeah, they're trying to find someone they've lost or someone that's trying to hide from them, DUH... But then it hit me, what if they're trying to find themself? What if they feel like they've lost themself and they're trying to find it? Or maybe they've realized there's something angry inside them and they need to get it out? It could be a mental thing, you know?

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
