Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby
Do you recognize me
Well, it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me
Merry Christmas, I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying 'I love you', I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kiss me now, I know you'd fool me again

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

A crowded room and friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice
My God, I thought you were someone to rely on
Me, I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A girl on a cover but you tore her apart
Maybe this year
Maybe this year I'll give it to someone special

'Cause last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

And last Christmas
And this year
It won't be anything like, anything like

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

when she says, "Merry Christmas, I wrapped it up and sent it" it makes me think that she was giving him her 'heart' again.

I think it's 'I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice' not 'eyes' that's just what I'm hearing c:

i love this song. and i have heard it from 4 ppl her , the original one, carrie underwood, and ashley tisdale, (i like all of them) this song means soo much to me. i love songs like these. where he broke her heart and she fell for a guy that didnt whole heartedly fall for her so she got broken and she knows i m not gonna make that same mistake twice. it means a lot to me when a song says that they are not gonna let their heart get broken a second time. cuz its practically my theme song.

    My Opinion

Why does this song have to be sad? LOL. I was looking for a happy song like this during Christmas, and this is what I thought up:

Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special.

Once smitten and twice shy, I keep my distance, But you still catch my eye. Tell me, baby, do you recognize me? Well, we’ve never talked, it doesn’t surprise me. Merry Christmas, I wrap it up and send it With a note saying, “I love you”– I mean it! Now I know how in love I am, ‘cause if you kissed me now, I know I’d fall again.

Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special. Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special.

A crowded room and friends with laughing eyes, I’m hiding from you and your gorgeous smile. My God, tonight you look so handsome. Me? I don’t feel very special. A face on a lover with a fire in his heart; A girl undercover ‘cause I’m falling apart. Maybe this year, maybe this year, I’ll give it to someone special.

Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special. Last Christmas… And this year… won’t be anything like, anything like… Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special. Last Christmas I was singing the blues ‘cause I had no one to give my heart to. This year I’ll be saved from tears ‘cause I’ll give it to someone special.

In this kind of situation, people should help each other, at least some people are doing something about the poverty. Since the recession began, more people are looking into debt relief. Debt relief is allotting more money to paying debt, so that persons' debt loan decreases and more of their income can be used for savings or things like retirement and so forth. The best way to get on that is to cut down on other expenditures — like cutting back on digital services. Do you even watch all 300 channels? (No one does.) Clipping coupons at grocery stores is another good one, and cutting back on the fast food and cooking more often not only will save you money, it's healthier for you. Getting a little debt relief could mean a little guaranteed loans in your pocket.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Punchline
