I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I, I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, 'cause

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
(Yeah)

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes you're gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah-yeah-yeah)

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep your faith
Keep your faith

Whoa-oh

    My Interpretation

This is a great song, even though I'm not a Miley/Hannah Montana fan...initially, I thought it was by someone else because I didn't recognize her voice at first.

I think this song basically speaks about wanting to reach our hopes & dreams in life. Although we may face obstacles in life, it's all about how we learn from our experiences & the good life skills we can take from them. In conclusion, as long as we never give up faith, we will reach our goals.

I cried during this part in the Hannah Montana movie. I love that movie and this song. They are both amazing.

Lol, that's funny. Everyone has commented on how much they love it, but no one except txdreamer commented on what they think it means?

Anyway @txdreamer; I totally agree with you there. It's not about what you achieve as much as it is about the journey there, and the experiences you learn along the way. Like, climbing a ladder; you'll be happy once you're at the top but climbing it and what you've gone through means more and makes you appreciate it more.

It's funny cause this song is totally how me and my boyfriend are. We're in a LDR and it's just like, having the distance between us and getting through that makes it more important, because we appreciate each other a lot more and we're a lot stronger than most couples because of it.

Anyway, yeah, Miley's songs are mostly cheesy. But they're written for mainly "Hannah Montana" fans right? Which vary probably from around 5/6 - 10/11. My 14 year old sister loves her and I think aside from the fact all those photos got leaked, she is kind of a little bit decent. At least she isn't like Jamie Lynn Spears and flashing her pregnancy everywhere.

    My Interpretation

This song is vague enough for it to have many meanings behind it. Since it is in the Hannah Montana movie, I'm sure it's about wanting to reach your dreams and having to face all the obstacles in the way and all the doubts from other people. But when I first heard it, I didn't know it was Miley singing it, so I thought that it could be about someone who is trying to get over a drug addiction. It makes sense when you read the lyrics. That person is trying to keep going on their journey and face all the struggles on the way. When I figured out that it was Miley singing it, I knew it couldn't be about that. Anyway, I am absolutely in love with this song, and though I'm not a total Miley lover, I have to give her props on this song because it's very beautiful.

I am a full-time nursing student, and working a full-time job as a police dispatcher, and a mother of 2 wonderful sons, and a wife. I quit school at 15, because I got pregnant. When I heard this song, it felt like it was being sung to me. The song gives me motivation when it gets to be overwhelming and seems pointless. I think the song means your dreams are possible to reach, but there is always going to be doubt and fear inside us. There is going to be good times and bad times, but we need to be strong and keep our faith, as we keep moving forward. No matter how bad it may seem or what we may be leaving behind, or what's waiting on us at the top. It's the steps we took, the choices me made, and the lessons we learned about ourself along the way that we will remember the most ! <333333333

I would listen to Miley if she went in this direction. This is a very powerful song with good lyrics, great vocals, and a good instrumental. She needs to break the chain of her disney hype

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
