In any case, the song seems generally self explanatory: The family is going through a rough time right now... and even though was second born Stephen has to play the role of first born because either his older sibling isn't emotionally capable of the task or he/she has passed away.
That's just my take - I really enjoy this song! Can't wait for the new album... it should be here Aug. 18th!
This song is awesome I got a demo version off of torrentz and its probably my favorite following Bonfire that I've heard off the new album.
the version i heard is s little different, specifically, the second verse we wait for test results, but mom it will be alrite spent out on expert consoles, but MOOOM it'll be alrite
or something like that i don't know about sj's siblings but i know his parents divorced at a young age and his mom is currently battling an illness. she lives in portland and he did a show in portland recently which his mom could not attend :/
"I'm on my own" should be "I hold my own", I believe.
Anyway, just discovered this song a few months ago and it's great. I really relate to it. I've had to be there for my mother who's struggled with post traumatic stress and bi-polar disorder and my older sister doesn't care about anyone but herself. We have always been the only ones that have been there for each other so I really connect with this song. I've told her it'll be alright a million times.
