I don't know why
I don't know why I'm so afraid
I don't know how
I don't know how to fix the pain

We're living a lie
Living a lie
This needs to change
We're out of time
We're out of time
And it's still the same

We can't stop the world
But there's so much more that we could do
You can't stop this girl
From falling more in love with you
You said, "Nobody has to know
Give us time to grow and take it slow"
But I'd stop the world, if it'd finally let us be alone
Let us be alone

I'm hearing the noise
Hearing the noise from all around
I'm on the edge
I'm on the edge of breaking down
Like Bonnie and Clyde
Let's find a ride and ditch this town
To keep it alive, keep it alive
Don't make a sound

We can't stop the world
But there's so much more that we could do
You can't stop this girl
From falling more in love with you
You said, "Nobody has to know
Give us time to grow and take it slow"
But I'd stop the world, if it'd finally let us be alone
Let us be

I never wanna take that final look
I'll turn another page
Won't close the book

We can't stop the world
But there's so much more that we could do
You can't stop this girl
From falling more in love with you
You said, "Nobody has to know
Give us time to grow and take it slow"
But I'd stop the world, if it'd finally let us be alone

Let us be alone
Let us be alone (let us be alone)
Let us be alone

So I'm pretty sure this song is about Alex Noyes from Honor Society

    1. Honor Society has a song called "Nobody Has to Know" and Demi says that the guy in the song told her this.

    2. They have a song called "Don't Close the Book" and in it they say "We'll meet up on another page, don't close the book". Basically the same lyric that Demi says in the bridge.

    3. There are rumors all over the internet about them dating, and it's already confirmed that they atleast are friends and know each other. It only makes sense.

Either way, this is a GREAT song. My favorite on the album. <3

    My Interpretation

A secret relationship that no one approves of; she won't give up hope that someday they'll be free to be together without a care, and wishes she could stop time to let the be for a little while.

this is an awesome song. it sounds kind of like a miley cyrus song for some weird reason that i cant explain. but anyway, when i heard the preview i first thought it was about global warming or something. haha. until she said "we can't stop this girl." but it's another great song from demi. i love this new album!

I agree with QuietIsTheNewLoud. Well said. And bornbackwards got the main idea. I went to her concert and she said this song was like, "forbidden love," which was an almost perfect way to phrase it. She even made a reference to Romeo and Juliet and how she doesn't mean to fall in love this person because she knows that nobody approves of it, but she believes that they will stay together.

    My Interpretation

My interpretion is : There's a secret relationship between a boy & a girl. They're hiding it from the world I guess to avoid all the judgements & all the gossip. They just wish that they could make the world come to a pause where It's just them two to be in love & no one can know what's goiing on because they're frozen in time. & one of them would stop the people in the world who would redicule & make their relationship suffer so that they can just live their life together, in love & nothing or no one to stop them. Nick & Demi , great song.

I love this song. I agree with most. She was in a relationship that no one approved of. "He said no body has to know give us time to grow, and take it slow."He's saying why give them a reason to try to break us up. Lets be together anyway and take it as slow as we want with no pressure. "But I'd stop the world, if it finally lets us be alone." She'd do anything to just have time with him, with no one trying to tell her what to do with him. To love with no limit.

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
