Falling Lyrics
Fallen out of trees and I've fallen on my face
Fallen out of taxis, out of windows too
Fell in your opinion when I fell in love with you
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Wish for falling through the air to give me some relief
Because falling's not the problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace
It's only when I hit the ground it causes all the grief
Whoa-oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
And my love keeps writing again and again
This is a song for a scribbled-out name
And my love keeps writing again and again
And again and again and again and again
And again and again and again and again
And again and again and again and again
And again and again and again and again
Found people to love, left people to drown
I'm not scared to jump, I'm not scared to fall
If there was nowhere to land I wouldn't be scared at all
At all
At all
Fall
Wish for falling through the air to give me some relief
Because falling's not the problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace
It's only when I hit the ground it causes all the grief

Can't believe this has no comments. It's so beautiful. I think it's about a girl who is in love with a guy who doesn't love her back but plays around with her emotions. And she's tried to ignore it and be with other people "found people to love, left people to drown" but she was hurt before by that person and she is not scared of falling in love, but being hurt by it. "It's only when i hit the ground it causes all the grief"
Simply beautiful. It seems to be about loving somebody who doesn't love her back. Then being in a mess and getting drunk to deal with the hurt.

It really is beautiful, isn't it?
I feel as if this song is really about me - especially with what Chantal16 commented!
It is about falling in love with someone, and about how wonderful it is just to let yourself fall - and about the sudden brick wall at the bottom when you realise the other person doesn't love you back. And yet, you seem to do it to other people, you let them fall in love with you and play with their emotions and then 'leave them to drown' just to try and get some relief from the pain of being in love with someone who won't ever love you back.
:(

love this song, I agree with the other two comments, I think it's about how she isnt scared of falling in love, she wishes for it, but she's scared of getting hurt 'I'm not scared to jump, i'm not scared to fall, if there was nowhere to land, I wouldn't be scared at all' 'found people to love, left people to drown' is like shes letting someone fall in love with her, maybe to avoid being hurt herself then leaving them. beautiful song x

I think this song is about contemplating suicide, but worrying about the effect it will have on her loved ones. "Falling's not the problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace It's only when I hit the ground it causes all the grief." This is suggesting that while she would have no problem ending her life, she worries about the grief it will bring her family and friends. "This is a song for a scribbled-down name" To me this suggests that this song is sort of her suicide note.
That's a brilliant interpretation!

Oh, and just to add to my interpretation, here it says she is saying, "If there was nowhere to land I wouldn't be scared at all." But whenever I listen to the song I hear, "If there was no one to love I wouldn't be scared at all." Which added to my suicide theory.

I completely understand this. Literally and figuratively. I love the feeling of falling, for real, but it's the landing that scares me to death. And with love. I'm so scared of being in love with someone it is painful. I get really close, I do, but when the moment comes to profess love I run away, because I'm afraid I'll be hurt.
protectbodythetans I love that line too "Fell in your opinion when I fell in love with you" It's actually my favorite.

This is currently my favorite song. I do not feel like it is a typical romantic love that is being described. I think that it deals with death and isolation.

This song just seems like someone who has an addiction with love. The person stumbles upon the one person they truly love, and now they're so broken. They want to flee as they've done so many times before to the people they used. It's too difficult now that she realizes it's much different than the others.
It seems that for this person they want to change, but their past is haunting them. There's just something beautifully tragic about this song.

Sorry, I think you're all wrong. The song is about suicide. The pain, the relief by falling, and the impact of how when you hit the ground, you cause all this grief.
yes, it's talking about suicide, but suicide is being used as a metaphor.

I think this song is about breaking free something, deeper than a guy's opinion, or drugs. or relapse into a bad ''habit'' this is about breaking free for real. If there was nowhere to land I wouldn't be scared of all, you know just give it all up no matter what, loose yr ego and all chains.
