La Sagrada Famiilia Lyrics
lead us, only a fool would say
Who knows if we'll meet along the
way
Follow the brightest star as far
as the brave may dare
What will we find when we get
there
storm will soon be over
La Sagrada Familia for the lion
and the lamb
blow us, only a fool would say
Who knows if we'll ever reach the
shore
Follow a rising sun with eyes that
may only stare
What kind of fire will burn us
there? What kind of fire?
Only a fool would say
changed the storm is over
La Sagrada Familia for the lion
and the lamb
La Sagrada Familia we thank the
Lord the danger's over
La Sagrada Familia there's peace
throughout the land
rise in songs of glory
And for all those years our eyes
and ears were filled with tears
turn us, only a fool woud say
Who knows what the fates may
have in store
Follow the light of truth as far
as our eyes can see
How should we know where that
may be? How should we know?
cries, the sounds of glory
And for all those years our eyes
and ears were filled with ears
lead us, only a fool would say
Who knows what's been lost
along the way
Look for the promised land in all
of the dreams we share
How will we know when we are
there? How will we know?
Only a fool would say
the battle's over
La Sagrada Familia for the lion
and the lamb
La Sagrada Familia we thank the
Lord the danger's over
La Sagrada Familia behold the
mighty hand
La Sagrada Familia the night is
gone the waiting's over
La Sagrada Familia there's peace
throughout the land
Until the next time

La Sagrada Familia is "The Holy Family" - off the album "Gaudi". The La Sagrada Familia is a church - Antonio Gaudi's matserpiece, which is still under construction. This song tells the story. Missing is the spoken words which really introduce the song.

I agree with Mickyfinn, it's about the unfinished cathedral in Barcelona. To know what this song is about one needs the little introducing story which is being told at the beginning of the song. I think what he says is:
"In recent times there is no one who could approach at all to Antonio Gaudi. He started a new cathedral in Barcelona, which is called La Sagrada Familia or Holy Family. The sad thing is, they could try to finish it, but I don't think they'll ever can do it."

I believe the title is Portugese. I think that all through history various people have migrated, with great difficulty and hardship, to what they thought would be a better place. The Irish came to America, for example, for that reason. The "family" in this song could also be the Mafia or the Catholic Church. In any case, of course they think they find peace, and they do for a while. "Until the next time......"
@MarkTomCat Sorry Dude, its spanish, not Portuguese. And the "sagrada familia" is a building in spain made by Gaudi. but i do agree about the song talking about migration.

I'm Spanish, and La Sagrada Familia is 'the sacred family' in Spanish.
About the song, apart from its Catholic-epic-rollercoaster lyrics, musically it has to be for sure the best piece of art the Project music factory ever created.

Obviously, the inspiration for the song is Antonio Gaudi's vision, the church La Sagrada Familia constructed in Barcelona, Spain. The construction project has taken place from 1882 till (expected to be completed) 2032 (or so).
That said, I see the lyrics as describing the ups, downs, unknowns, and twists of fate ("behold the mighty hand", "who knows what the fates may have in store".."hand" being a reference to "fate", or God) over one's life...an epic arc, just as the construction of this cathedral is an epic project (seriously interrupted by the Spanish Civil War), during which time so much good and bad has happened in both Spain and the world.
To me, this is a beautiful song...lyrics and music. The most salient part, the part I always think about, is the creacendo-ing finale...the "war is won, the battle's over", and there is "peace throughout the land". But the penultimate (repeated) incredibly haunting line sung by Eric Woolfson.."until the next time"...is a warning that all that is good and settled is short-lived. As I write this, a situation in my life that seemed to be wonderful that came out of nowhere (hand of fate), that I thought was good and settled has turned bad....and this song, especially Eric Woolfson's penultimate line, is in my thoughts once again.

I believe leaving the Gaudi part aside, the lyrics talk about the jewish exodus from egypt, or possibly some other similar exodus for other tribes like gypsies or Armenians.
