Brother Lyrics
There's so much that I could never say to your face
But by now
You should know the world and all its ways so find your place
When she bore you before me
'Cause she doesn't need a child, she needs a friend
A son not a sob story
And your priority, it must be heard
(Now you must have never heard of what she did for you)
'Cause we'll never be the way we were
Our mother
When you are at a age now well life turns around
My brother
Responsibility comes down to you
But how can I expect you to understand
When you live life like its so run through
Your priority, it must be heard
(Now you must have never heard of what she did for you)
'Cause we'll never be the way we were
And your priority, it must be heard
(Now you must have never heard of what she did for you)
'Cause we'll never be the way we were
And your priority, it must be heard
This song is more than i could ever explain. To me,its something that my sister(s) would say to me,exactly. My mother thinks i'm an alcoholic but i'm not. If i close my eyes,i see my sister reading this off a piece of paper and it makes me breakdown and cry. She"s basically saying that her family is going through stuff and their mother can't deal with it anymore and she's telling her brother that he's needs to step up and be mature. Totally relatable.
this is a bonus track from "Frank" that is hidden after "Amy Amy Amy". I like the beat of it ant the way she sings this place "Now you must look out for her the way she did for you" is it about aking care of your mother, the way she did for you?
She is basically telling her brother that now that she is gone he will need to take responsibility for himself and mommy and daddy cant always be there for him. It may not seem like it but she is really telling her brother to grow up in a really mean way. This is one beautiful amazing song and Amy's vocals are extremely awesome i cant even begin to explain how great this song sounds.
Ironic, isn't it? This song came out in 2003, before Amy's descent into drug abuse, but with a couple of changes, it could be what her brother would sing to her today. She's the irresponsible one now, breaking her mother's heart.
What's up with the giggling in the background? It doesn't seem to go with the lyrics.
Man i cried listening to this song because i thought about my brother me and my brother are really close and i think the same thing the words in these lyrics relate and this is my favorite song by amy winehouse except take the box love that song.
This song is so relatable to me. I recently became very close to my older brother during the pandemic. We are going to go see the Amy Winehouse experience tomorrow evening. My brother doesn’t talk to my mother because he said that she was a horrible person. With five kids and husband who abandoned her, she did the best she could, but she sent him to his father when he was about 14 years old. He got into the gang life and his life sucked. Today he is a very successful businessman, recently divorced, and finding out who he is. I truly believe that when Amy says his priority must be heard that he must talk to his mother and talk it all out. It’s a priority in his life for him to have peace. My mom did do a lot for him. She tried her best. It does say that she doesn’t want to hear a sob story so he should be on the positive side but also talk about is it Bandan meant issues and be grateful for all she gets with him. This song is an incredibly beautiful song.
