Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Aw, i can't believe no one commented on this. To me this is about two people, they are in relationship , probably a long-distance one and the person singing is basically saying, "i will always be with you."
Umm.. I partly agree with the above. I see it as him dreaming. Kind of saying.. more along the lines of.. "(In our dreams,) we'll always be together"

I definately think it could be taken as a long-distance relationship feel, but I think it is more of Adam singing about his relationship with God, since he is a Christian and all. It's awesome either way.
i love the line, "missing puzzle pieces and cloudy question marks" i feel like no matter what relationship this song is describing, one with God or with someone you love but can't be with, that line is the perfect description of how things feel sometimes.

See I got a totally different feel from it . I think it's more he likes a girl, and given the chance they could see the full potential between the two of them .
