Wherein Lies Continue Lyrics
Kill your Fathers - Destroy another Life
Question everything we clung to for years
Live Forever - Design a Better Death
Confuse a liar with a savior from fear
Create a Myth and Separate the Chosen Ones
Adolescent Independence / Dominion
I only wanna believe in fuckin’ anything
But now my conscience is contradicting everything
THE ENDING’S THE SAME / THE WORLD WILL NOT CHANGE
THE ANSWER IS CLEAR…
Tell your Mothers they have no Sons or Daughters
Blame yourselves because your Children are Mine
We are Orphans, but we are not Forgotten
And we will find a way to save us this time
We can run, but we are tired of running
We’re dropping seconds in a glass ‘til we die
We only wanna believe in fuckin’ everything
But we’re alive and we’re not accepting anything
THE ENDING’S THE SAME / THE WORLD WILL NOT CHANGE
THE ANSWER IS CLEAR… ANNIHILATION
I won’t control or restrain things I do not understand
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER
They gave to me now I give to you the means to burn the thoughts I had
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER MORE
WE HAVE TO SAVE OURSELVES
I will never become another piece
Inside the Paralytic Construct I hate
Live Forever? Well, I would rather die
At least I’d know I wasn’t theirs to create
This is yours, but you had better choose
Before they take away your right to decide
I guess I’ll never believe in fuckin’ anything
But my solace is I CAN HANDLE EVERYTHING
THE ENDING’S THE SAME / THE WORLD WILL NOT CHANGE
THE ANSWER IS CLEAR… OBLITERATION
I won’t control or restrain things I do not understand
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER
They gave to me now I give to you the means to burn the thoughts I had
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER
I won’t control or restrain things I do not understand
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER
They gave to me now I give to you the means to burn the thoughts I had
Now I realize I’m STRONGER BETTER
MORE
WE HAVE TO SAVE OURSELVES

I think the song is about religion and not goverments, really. And not only the wars that are being waged in the name of a God, but also the indoctrination and narrow-mindedness of the religious people themselves.
The "thou shalt not" at the beginning of the song could be a reference to the 10 commandments from God, as most of them start with "thou shalt not" or any other version of those words. This interpretation is backed up by the lines that follow: "Kill your father, destroy another life". The 10 commandments tell us to "honor thy father" and "not kill", so yeah, this makes some sense. Corey adds some more commandments after these, though. "Question everything we clung to for years", "Design a Better Death". I think he comments on the religious peoples mindless clinging onto their old rules and habits. They are not open for influences from the outside. At the end of this couplet he claims he is actually open for religion, but finds himself incapable of believing because he sees there is so much wrong with religion. This is followed by the line he keeps repeating: The end is the same, the world will not change. The answer is clear: etc, etc, etc. The world sucks and, according to Corey, religion is not open for any new influences, thus preventing this sucking world from changing. According to him, the answer is destroying religion.
The rest of the song easier to explain. I think it pretty much comes down to Corey telling the listeners to turn against their (religious) parents and think for themselves rather than simply take everything they are told as the truth. He says he is not trying to "control or restrain something he does not understand" (?deity?), but realises he is better off doing so (openly being an Atheïst, I guess). He was told by someone how to cast religion aside (burn the thoughts he had) and he is trying to tell us to do the same. If we want to be free of religion and the war and doubt it breeds, we will have to free ourselves from its shackles.
I might be right, I might be wrong. Nonetheless, a lovely songtext with tons of meaning in it! Its message might be a bit extreme, but I guess it's all part of their image.
You think this is about religion?Yes in some parts of the song the religion is included. But the whole song is just telling us or to the world that corey is being "REALISTIC" . i disagree to the one who says that it is nihilism.. Fuck you.Corey is just a genius.A realist! And he's telling us what he sees and feel to this world full of fucking shit. Fuck it.Fuck the world, fuck the politicians.Etc..

THE ENDINGS THE SAME / THE WORLD WILL NOT CHANGE : this is so sick, because its so true.
its simple. this song is about nihilism. they want to believe in something but everything that they are given is complete bullshit so they make their own path. they see how all the bullshit they feed you is, complete and utter bull and must be destroyed. we are the children of the world but no one gives a shit about us, they just want to make themselves richer. this song is just about nihilism and how bullshit society is.

i think this song is about the world today religion war all those things. but mainly i think the song is about Bush administration and the american people.. let me explain. in the song it seems like its about the american people not taking anymore shit and is tired of all the bs in the country for the past 8 years and its time for change. "we are orphans but not forgotten" peoples children that are sent to war meaning when your a soldier your property of the goverment. all i got. anyone want to add go for it or did i hit the nail?

I think it means that its a mix of them hating the government like tillwedie said, like the orphans lyric and the war, and its also about what mynamehere said like that every religioun is complete bullshit so they just do their own thing. especially the christianity, like "live forever? id rather die" part. it could be both, one of them, or either.
POWERFUL!!!! WORDS TO LIVE BY!!!!
This song explains why I am who I am and what I do. for me anyway, thats just my interpretation. A song Id like to play to my little bro and possibly my fav off the album. Except maybe all hope is gone
