Dignity Lyrics

You walk the streets
Never feel no guilt
You make your money selling guns on the playground

I'm so ashamed
Cause we're all the same
Killing in the name money is the game now

And you're buying bombs
And we pay the price
Eat your lies and we feed it to the children

Is this what you want?
Is this what you need?
You're gonna kill us all to bring peace

My blood
My soul
Is my enemy
My life
My love
Is poison to me
I know it's not how it's supposed to be
Got no choice
No voice
I have no dignity

You manipulate
With your bag of tricks
You're playing God with the world on my shoulder

can't regulate
Cause the worlds at stake
We're so lost that we all think it's over

But I'm the one to blame
For this burning pain
It's eating up the world
And we gonna live it in shame
It's hard to maintain
when it's so insane
It's so, so insane
So kids don't listen to your parents
The parents can't teach us
All they ever left was a world in a mess

My blood
My soul
Is my enemy
My life
My love
Is poison to me
I know it's not how it's supposed to be
Got no choice
No voice
I have no dignity

We got no control of the state of our minds
Now I see that all I ever lived was a lie
We're all duped to believe that there's no way around,
There's no way around,
There's no way around,
There's no way around!!!

My blood
My soul
Is my enemy
My life
My love
Is poison to me
I know it's not how it's supposed to be
Got no choice
No voice
I have no dignity

My blood
My soul
Is my enemy
My life
My love
Is poison to me
I know it's not how it's supposed to be
Got no choice
No voice
I have no dignity

The meaning of this song is very clear. It is a message to all those powerful people that are behind the scenes pulling the strings of our media, governments, economies, cultures, and societies. The guys in charge are prosecuting war, "manipulating," and "regulating" to the point that we are losing our identity and "dignity."

It has gone on for so long that even our parents are numb from the "media mind melt (see music video)," and have lost "control of the state of [their] minds." They've been blind to whats really going on around us, and "all they ever left was a world in a mess," so now it's up to the younger generation to wake up to the lies being told by the media (i.e. government) and take our world back.

This is about the new world order, and it's fantastic. If you don't know what that is, you better find out. If you like this, listen to Muse too--e.g. Resistance, and Uprising.

Song Meaning

The part where he sings "Is this what you want? Is this what you need? You're gonna kill us all to bring peace" reminds me of a boy in my class, who is obsessed with war.. I think war is like trying to save people by killing them..

Not Valid

When you say, "New World Order" are you talking about the conspiracy of a strictly authoritarian government throughout the world? Because if you are, i'm completely sure that the song is NOT about that. If not, do explain to me what you mean by NWO.

Not Valid

I'm pretty sure this song is NOT about that. Neither is Uprising.

The opening guitar riff is almost identical to "Hold Me" by Weezer. I absolutely love it. I'll be back to post a full song review.
