Black and Blue Lyrics
And my heart isn’t black and blue anymore
And your words don’t mean a thing
And they’re sung in vain
And maybe I was wrong
I only remember feeling so alone
But you dug this grave
Fits me perfectly
And if you’re asking if I’m over love
You’re a fool to believe
That you gave me some
Like it never should
And I can’t help believe
It’s because you’re coming
And if a child was to run away
And a child was to hide
Oh, don’t come following your fantasy
‘Cause you might be surprised
She’ll run right back inside
And maybe I was wrong
I only remember feeling so alone
But you dug this grave
Fits me perfectly
And if you’re asking if I’m over love
You’re a fool to believe
You’re a fool to believe
That you gave me some

I think this is someone telling an ex-partner that they have recovered from their abuse. It's an extreme story I'm conveying here, but maybe it was so bad that she nearly died ("you dug this grave - Fits me perfectly"). She felt alone in the relationship ("I only remember feeling so alone") because she felt unable to reach out to others for help as well as happiness; & they obviously weren't a team, as a couple should be. "If you asking if I’m over love, you’re a fool to believe that you gave me some" - She refuses to believe that she will never trust again or love, because she realizes what he gave her was not love. I think her correlation with the bad weather & her ex shows her fear of his inevitable return. The story of the child running & hiding - She's the child running & hiding from what she knows in heart to be wrong & what she fears, but if her ex were to coming knocking on her door again, she fears she might run back into his arms.
