Where Is My Mind (feat. Yoav) Lyrics

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind

Way out in the water
See it swimmin'

I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me, to me (Emily Browning) / coy koi (Pixies version)

Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind

Way out in the water
See it swimmin'?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind

Oh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Oh
Oh

Watching the movie and reading the lyrics makes me feel almost depressed.

Spoiler Since this song was played at the ending where baby doll decides to get the lobotomy and basically goes to vegetable state where her mind is else where and her body is still here. Bitter Sweet I must say

What movie and book is it from?

I prefer this version over the original. It's almost like the two songs are completely different even though they're not. Emily Browning's voice is so beautiful and is perfectly suited to this remake.

In my opinion, although these lyrics were in Suckerpunch and pertain to that movie. They were also written long before, as well as being used in Fight Club. So having said that, i tend to see it as "any" type of mental escape. Perhaps dream or daydream. Perhaps a mental block or happy place, to avoid dealing with one's current situation. It does lend itself to a person's struggle with the idea of suicide, or something as extremely tragic as that.

This is my honest opinion....as i personally went through all of the above. To this day, i see it as a personal reminder of how close one can come to letting go, but finding a reason to stay. I indulge the daydream, and remember my state of mind. But i do so to make myself stronger. So....this song could be seen as tragic and indeed, bittersweet. But it can also be viewed as - it's ok that you may get to such a point (as many do), yet still make it back.

Find your purpose.... it does exist.
