Amarillo Lyrics

The mountains are waiting
The full moon has come

I got lost on highway
Well don't ask me where I've been
Or what I've done

Oh Lord send me transmission
Forgive me for what I've become

The Sun has come to save me
Put a little love into my lonely soul

The Sun has come to save me
Put a little love into my lonely soul

Oh don't you know I need her loving you
It's no desire

this song reminds me of when you like someone but they like someone else and hence the last verse "oh don't you know I need her loving you" like you realize you can't be with this person and it makes you feel sad but the person she likes doesn't like her back and so she's sad or depressed and he feels sad that she is sad, because he truly loves her so he wants that other guy to love her back so she is happy. Well I dunno I could be wrong but that is my interpretation.

@cerise333 Been there man. Gorillaz has many songs that reminds me of different love situations. Melancholy Hill, Every planet we reach is dead.. And i dont think you can be wrong in song interpretations, that song represents that for you, period :) People can have other opinions, but thats fine.

Agree, my favourite song from the album too. The album itself is absolutely awesome. Perhaps my favourite Gorillaz album too. Completely underrated.

2-D sounds so sad in this entire album

Long car rides give you much time to think.

I see it as a reflection of how 2D felt after he found out about Paula and after the other girl left him (both because of Murdoc) and how they didn't even leave him, a loving boyfriend for love themselves. Just because of Murdoc

My Interpretation

I get the sense that this is about a lonely guy who fails to find any joy within his world. Crumbled and defeated (maybe from a past love.) he searches for the answers that will help him put more love back into his world and renew his passion for life.
