Down Like Me Lyrics
I have been
Inside your war song,
And I've seen
You drop your poison.
You compromise and steal,
Telling people how you feel,
Though it's not a bit for real.
But the dollar gives you wheels,
And you're longing to be free.
But no one brings me down like me
No one brings me down like me.
Have you heard
When greed meets hunger?
How absurd,
The weak is stronger.
'Cause when they are satisfied,
They sigh and wipe their mouth,
And they sleep 'til they awake.
But for you there's too much at stake.
You have to plan the next big break.
You rest when you are dead, like me
Rest when you are dead like me.
Down like me, down like me
No one brings me down, down, down
Down like me.
Inside your war song,
And I've seen
You drop your poison.
You compromise and steal,
Telling people how you feel,
Though it's not a bit for real.
But the dollar gives you wheels,
And you're longing to be free.
But no one brings me down like me
No one brings me down like me.
No one brings me down, down, down
Down like me.

I can't believe there's no comments on this sooong. It's so good. I think the meaning is pretty obvious, too. It's unfortunate, but very true, typically.
I think most people can relate with the line "No one gets me down like me." I think this song is just about how fake people are on the outside, and how they will do anything to appear normal, even though what's on the inside is so drastically different.
Great song, great lyrics.

"Have you heard When greed meets hunger? How absurd, The weak is stronger. 'Cause when they are satisfied, They sigh and wipe their mouth..." - It's also about capitalism ;) I think Peter Moren's recent solo work sheds quite some light on how he feels about capitalism...
