Cut the music up
A lil' louder, yeah

You had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love, mmh
You had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in a corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love, mmh

For a second you were here, now you over there
It's hard not to stare, the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love (had a love, ayy)
Never had a love (had a love, ayy)

When you was just a youngin', your looks were so precious
But now you're grown up, so fly it's like a blessing
But you can't have a man look at you for five seconds
Without you being insecure (insecure)
You never credit yourself so when you got older
It's seems like you came back ten times over
Now you're sitting here in this damn corner
Looking through all your thoughts and looking over your shoulder

See you had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love
Mh, see you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in this corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

Mh, for a second you were here, now you over there
It's hard not to stare, the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love (had a love, ayy)
had a love (had a love, ayy)

Oh, and you had a lot of dreams that transformed to visions
The fact that you saw the world affected all your decisions
But it wasn't your fault, wasn't in your intentions
To be the one here talking to me, be the one listening
But, but I admire your poppin' bottles and dippin'
Just as much as you admire bartending and strippin'
Baby, so don't be mad, nobody else trippin'
You seen a lot of crooks and them crooks still crook

You see you had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love
Mh, see you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in this corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

Oh, see I just want you to know
That you deserve the best
You're beautiful (ayy), you're beautiful (ayy)
Yeah, and I want you to know
You're far from the usual (ayy), far from the usual (ayy)

You see you had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love
Mh, see you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in this corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love, mmh

See you had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love
Yeah, see you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in this corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love, mmh

    Song Meaning

I really like lil wayne MORE now from listening to this song. Some people like the drugs and ghetto lil wayne , and some people actually like to find more meaning in songs like this one - because if you cant put yourself in the place of this song you probably wont like it!! But the meaning is pretty much about some girl who was caught up with all these wrong guys who treated her bad and walked out so she grew up without respecting herself, she became a stripper - and anytime a man looks at her shes wondering what is wrong with her but lil wayne is tryin to just say you never knew how to love but your beautiful and you deserve better.

I will never understand why people who don't like Lil Wayne and his music spend their own time going onto here and comment that they hate him and his music. Why are you here? Do something more productive with your life. I don't waste my time disrespecting other people and artist that you like.

Anyways, I really like this song and it has a cute meaning. He is talking to women that are insecure because of men and is just saying that you just haven't found the right guy and that their is nothing wrong with her.

And btw, making fun of the way people look just makes yourself look insecure and jealous.

    My Interpretation

To me, this song speaks for a girl who was born into a broken family. With no father present, she developed insecurities because of the emptiness she felt was never filled due to the lack of a father, thus searching for love and acceptance in the wrong places. When he says "Now you're in this corner, trying to put it together - how to love." It's basically the dark story of a stripper who took the wrong route, due to the lack of love and guidance as a child. Therefore, not loving herself or having respect for herself. In the video it's alittle different, but in general explains the same basic story. At the end it shows her mother falling in love and marrying again, as the little girl watches them kiss. The little girl grows up with a stable home, witnessing the proper way to love from her mother and new found husband, therefore loving herself. It then shows the confidence manifest in her school work, and her falling in love with a good boy. She goes through life much differently rather than being raised in an unstable environment.

I love lil wayne, and i don't care what anyone says about it haha yes most of his songs are about money, and bitches, and drugs, and all kinds of other straight up gangster things, he shows a softee side every now and then, and this song kinda hits home for me personally, so THANK YOU lil wayne, for this song. It's a song for every girl who has every been heartbroken and scared to love again which in reality is most everybody, not just girls. He appreciates that heartbreak happens, which most other rappers do not. Another good song of lil waynes is "something you forgot." it shows his softee side as well :)

Somebody just dedicated me this song. He said I'm the one he remembers whenever he listens to this song. Now I really know I have low self esteem.. even my mom thought so. But who is he to say that he loves me, he misses me, cares for me, that i'm beautiful and that I deserve the best.. when he is a married man (to someone else). He may or may not be sincere but I can't help feel the way how he sees me through. I feel him, I know. But sooner I will say goodbye to him.

I will always have this song close to me. To help me love myself better and be reminded of someone who cared to wake me up. I think I'm in-love with him.. but I guess I'm gonna have to endure a life without him. And I'm sure I'm gonna have the best times even without him.....

Well, I just saw this video and It literally brought me to tears. Probably one of the most touching videos I've ever seen. If you watch the video it goes much deeper than you would ever expect, and definitely has an unexpected ending. Made me see a different side of lil wayne. WATCH THE VIDEO!

    My Opinion

I'm not really huge with Rap, or with Lil Wayne (There a few songs of him that I thought were catchy) but when I first heard this song I nearly cried about how deep and beautiful the lyrics are. Listening to this song really hits me home on how I grew up, and it only reminds me how far I've come in life.

Beautiful, beautiful song by him, it is one of my all time fave songs :) <3

Love in a Vacuum
'Til Tuesday
Well, in my opinion this song is about being a young & maybe a little naive &/or introverted girl and finding yourself loving a man who is at first very charming, carefree & outgoing, and seems at first to be without limits, as in "There was a time you opened up every doorway you didn't mind if everything wasn't your way" then that man starts to gradually become more introverted & shows their more possessive/obsessive side to you as the relationship progresses, even while they keep up the appearance of being carefree & outgoing to everyone else, "Don't pull away that goes against what you told me I look in your eyes I realize what you've sold me is love in a vacuum" so you confront them about the way they're acting and of course they deny it, "I think you've changed but you insist that that's not true" quite possibly they are an addict of some sort, my guess would be cocaine, &/or showing very obsessive behavior towards you (early on in the video for this song we see the man hanging a picture up, it is a very large portrait of Aimee & it is prominently displayed in his/their apartment for the duration of the song), thus their "love in a vacuum", "You look so strange, so distant that you're hardly you Now I can see how you have been acting different You say it's me but I know that it isn't it's love in a vacuum" but still you are in love with them and don't want to leave them and you know that they are truly in love with you and they don't want you to leave them either, maybe they are convinced you can save them from themself, maybe they are so broken that the possibility of an overdose &/or suicide attempt is very real and you want to get through to them that their behavior not only dangerous but it is also just pissing you off and if they don't wise up they run the risk of loosing you, as in the lines "You will be lonely if you leave me alone", so you want to save them but can't get through to them due to the addiction &/or emotional problems they have, "Love in a vacuum and that's not enough love in a vacuum You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way You will be lonely if you leave me alone You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way it's just not enough" you want them to understand that the love they are giving you is not enough when it is filtered through the vacuum of their drug addiction &/or emotional impairment, "You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way it's just not enough and just wait you will be lonely Love in a vacuum Love in a vacuum and that's not enough Love in a vacuum". 'Love In A Vacuum' for me is a hauntingly truthful acute argument on the loneliness of obsession and almost inevitable loss of love that follows people who are broken in some way or another; the obsessives, the coke heads, the drunks, addicts or the just-plain-old emotionally broken; a razor sharp, lyrically driven, deceptively poppy, yet ultimately-depressing-in-the-best-way song. Quintessential Aimee Mann.

Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.
