Your Bones Lyrics
Out of feathers, out of bones.
We set fire to our homes,
Walking barefoot in the snow.
As we drifted towards the storm.
Baby lion lost his teeth,
Now they're swimming in the sea.
Where they laid to rest.
The birds all, left my tall friend,
As your body hit the sand.
Million stars up in the sky
Formed a tigers eye
That looked down on my face,
Out of time and out of place.
Hold on to what we are,
Hold on to your heart.
Of a screaming owl,
Chasing leaves in the wind,
Going where we've never been.
Said goodbye to you my friend
As the fire spread.
All that's left are your bones
That will soon sink like stones.

This song makes me think of a viking funeral of a dear friend... placing their body in a boat, setting it on fire, and letting it go, to drift, burn, and eventually sink into the sea.

This song is about Nomadic Indians during the beginning of Spring. Once Spring rolls around, they create new hunting tools (bows and arrows) and burn down the rest. In Spring, snow rains down heavily in some areas. Living in one of those areas, these Nomadic Indians hunt for their food and equipment while traveling on foot for a new area to settle down in for a bit. However, one (or a couple of) tribesmen ended up succumbing to the snow or other hardships. Before moving on any further, the others do a ritual where they cremate the dead which lasts through the night until the last man or woman falls asleep. Waking up to the sound of an Owl, they all start waking up and getting ready to move again, paying their final respects to those who passed just as they've done to the animals they've hunted and continue on.

Said goodbye to you my friend, As the fire spread. All that's left are your bones That will soon sink like stones
soooooooooo sad it almost makes me cry im not being sarcastic
:( I agree
:( I agree

Maybe not the lyrics, but the music reminds me of a classic western film. Having the hero go against something difficult and maybe dying or losing some one in the process.

Its saying they are going on adventure but during it they must stay true to themselves and their love.
That doesn't make sense. I think that would completely ignore the point of the lyrics and song title.

I agree with nxj18, but I got more of an indian impression.
'Baby lion lost his teeth, Now they're swimming in the sea.
Made me think of a young indian called Cub, who died during his first battle. This song seemed like someone's recollection of his last moments and his thoughts and sadness of having to bury him at sea.

I think that this song is about the poem, "The Cremation of Sam McGee."

This is to a passed away loved one who, wanted a vikings burial of the dead a ship with arrows that are lit on fire thrown into the boat. And they all remember him/her

The tune and lyrics have a certain tao about them. After reading A Treatise on Efficacy by Jullien, it is hard not to see...or seem to see.

You forgot a lyric. After this line: "The birds all left my tall friend" Comes this line: "As her body hit the sand"
Pretty much all of their lyrics have a way of rhyming.
