Jump Lyrics

Palm trees in black and white
Last thing I saw before I died
Palm trees in black and white
Was the last thing I saw before I died.
Right line, right man
Right mixture of cocaine and heroin

Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you, do you wanna?

Heaven in the wind
Cadillac convertible with him
I was shot at two A.M.
You got that grin of a very old man.

Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you, do you wanna?

Palm trees in black and white
You are a junkie on your window, smiling wide
Palm trees in black and white
Lean forward and you close your eyes
Last fight, fuck them
Last words before you went under again.

Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you wanna jump, jump, jump?
Do you, do you, do you wanna?

Just do what you love, just do what you can
Just do what you love, just do what you can
Just do what you love, do it better than
Just do what you love, do it better than

Do you wanna?
Do you wanna?

Another one of her many songs filled with drug references (although she outright names them in this song). Seems like she's dated a lot of druggies, as well as battled her own addictions. She says she's reformed now, but as a junkie myself, it's just a matter of time before relapse occurs. Hope it doesn't mess up her music.

This song is clearly about drug use with one of her boyfriends. Some of the lyrics are open to a degree of creative interpretation, with "palm trees in black and white" perhaps referring to the appearance of rising smoke from a pipe or other device, and "the last thing I saw before I died" being the moment before taking a hit causes her to blackout or perhaps overdose. "Jumping" is another term for tripping/getting high, the "grin of a very old man" refers to meth mouth... there's not all that much depth here, but it's certainly a catchy song and certainly one of her best pieces of pop before Interscope came along and made everything sound like Video Games.
