White demon love song down the hall
White demon shadow on the road
Back up your mind, there is a call
He isn't coming after all
Love this time
She likes the way he sings
White demon love song's in her dreams

White demon, where's your selfish kiss?
White demon sorrow will arrange
Let's not forget about the fear
Black invitation to this place that cannot change
While strangely holy, come for a rain

(Darling)

White demon, widen your heart's scope
White demon, who let your friends go?
White demon, widen your heart's scope
White demon, who let your friends go?

Let us be in love
(Let us be in love)
Let's do old and grey
(Let's do old and grey)
I won't make you cry
(I won't make you cry)
I will never stray
(I will never stray)
I will do my part
(I will do my part)
Let us be in love tonight

White demon, widen your heart's scope
White demon, who let your friends go?
White demon, widen your heart's scope
White demon, who let your friends go?

(Stand it anymore, darling)
(Stand it)

(I can't stand it anymore, darling)
(Stand it)

First, just to clarify: I am a fan of the whole twilight/new moon business, but this won't bias my opinion.. second: this song shouldn't be based on New Moon. It is associated by being in a scene in the movie and on the soundtrack. relatable to New Moon, just not based from New Moon.

I may be COMPLETELY wrong.. I am in a funny mood as i discuss this:

I think this song is almost self-explanatory. Its about a girl who is in love (or strongly likes) a boy who maybe doesn't know her or notice her in the same way.

she waits for him to notice, while changing herself in ways she thinks might make him like her more. This results in her becoming obsessed and depressed. Over this she loses her friends respect for being something she's not..

The narrator is all the while trying to catch the girls attention "I'll never break your heart; lets do old and grey" etc.

the chorus is essentially telling the girl to open up her eyes and heart; not to focus on one guy who doesn't feel the same towards her; to look to the guys who will treat her right and love her back..

as i said this all maybe completely irrelevant, but its kinda where i see it going.. feel free to prove me wrong :) i want to know what you guys think. Great song, have always been a fan of the Killers

This song originally was not intended for the New Moon album. It just didnt make the cut for Day & Age.

This is from an interview w/ Brandon.

"They approached us. We had this song that didn’t end up making it onto the new album – the band’s a democracy, so it was a split decision. It’s called “A White Demon Love Song.” We thought [the soundtrack] was a good opportunity to get that song out there. It kind of fit perfectly with the movie."

    My Interpretation

well first i would say that the song is about a person who wants someone who dosent want them so i would say that this song is pretty much coming from Jacob's heart, hes telling bella thats he love her he will never hurt and he will always be there and that hes the better man, and how he dosent understand how she can be in love with some one who is no good for her.

ill break it down for all you guys imma put the meaning next to the lyrics check it out

White demon love song down the hall- this is basically saying that bella so in love with this guys that jacobs feels it and hears it like you do with a song thats playing down the hall

White demon shadow on the road- its tellings us about how edward is with bella in spirit were ever she goes

Back up your mind, there is a call He isn't coming after all- these two lines are jacob telling bella wake up he not comming back

Love this time She likes the way he sings White demon love song's in her dreams- this is saying that he left her and he hurt her but yet all this time she still loves him and shez still dreaming of him

White demon, where's your selfish kiss?- i personally love this line i think its saying how edwards kisses are shelfish because he could never really kiss bella with passion, because everytime the poor guy gets near her he wants to drink her blood so he holds back

White demon sorrow will arrange- meaning edwards sadness could never be as bellas sadness because hes cold so his sorrow is set to not feel like she does

Let's not forget about the fear Black invitation to this place that cannot change- meaning that jacob is very fearfull of the fact that edward could turn bella into a vampire and once it done its done it cannot be changed

While strangely holy, come for a rain- this part is jacob saying that even thou he wants bella and dosent agree with her loving some one no good he finds her detecation and love to edward sared like hes facinated in a way because he sees how much bella loves edward which its strange to him how he can respect that in a way

    (Darling)

White demon, widen your heart's scope- White demon, who let your friends go? White demon, widen your heart's scope
White demon, who let your friends go? okay now this whole part is jacob telling Bella open your heart give me a chance, hes telling her look you have no friends because of him

Let us be in love- this is the obvious (Let us be in love) Let's do old and grey- jacobs saying lets grow old together we can grow old together unlike you and edward (Let's do old and grey) I won't make you cry- jacobs saying i will never make you cry the way he does (I won't make you cry) I will never stray- jacobs saying i will never leave you like he has (I will never stray) I will do my part- jacobs saying i will do what i gotta do ill be there for you and ill love you and all that good jazz (I will do my part) Let us be in love tonight- and hes saying bella lets just be in love lol

White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go? White demon, widen your heart's scope White demon, who let your friends go?

(Stand it anymore, darling) (Stand it))- this is basically jacob saying damn it i cant take it i cant stand it i cant stand you loving him i cant stand seeing you guys together i cant satand how it hurts to love you and you not love me

(I can't stand it anymore, darling

And thats it guys im a big twilight fan and i think this is what the song means this is jacobs song to bella and i would say this song hit the nail on the head its a great song i love the killers its amazing iight you guys lata hope you guys listen to the song and agree with me on this one ...

    My Interpretation

To me, this song seems like it would be from Jacob's point of view.

The whole "White Demon" meaning could be directed towards Edward.

"He isn't coming after all" Refering to how Edward left Bella and never plans to come back.

"She likes the way he sings white demon love songs in her dreams" Refers to how Bella still loves Edward.

"White demon, where's your selfish kiss? White demon sorrow will arrange Let's not forget about the fear Black invitation to this place that cannot change" Refers to what would happen to Bella if Edward was still with her: selfish kiss-biting to change someone into a vampire, a place that cannot change-being a vampire, they never age.

"Let us be in love, Let's do old and grey, I won't make you cry, I will never stray, I will do my part, Let us be in love tonight" Refers to how Jacob feels for Bella: He loves her unconditionally and never wants to hurt her, even though he knows that she's inlove with Edward and doesn't feel the same way about him.

I really, really like this song, and that is my interpretation. I am very much a Twitard, and I have always loved the Killers, so I was extremely pleased that they made it onto the soundtrack with such an awesome song. =]

i think it's "He HEARS IT coming after all All this time" instead of "he isn't coming after all"

anyway, such an awesome song can't wait to see where it ends up in the movie

I agree that this song might not have been made specifically for New Moon. While the idea of calling vampires "white demons" fits, this is also a slang Cantonese term for Caucasian people. So, my offbeat theory is that this could be about a Caucasian guy who moved to Asia leaving a friend behind who really cared for him.

I thought white demon was more like...cocaine, not really vampires or anything so much in relation to New Moon.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
