You say you'll know when you really find the one
But it's hard to tell with the damage that's been done
But I'd like to say that it's your fault
But I know better
'Cause I'm a fool to think you'd wait around forever

Maybe I, could have loved you
Maybe I, could have shown
That I still do care about you
More than you could know
Don't say it's too late to try
To make it right
Oh, to make it right, yeah

I didn't know how good you were for me
Now its clear, I'm seeing all that we could be
And I know that its my fault
But I'm gonna treat you better
'Cause if I had one wish
You'd be with me forever

Maybe I, could have loved you
Maybe I, could have shown
That I still do care about you
More than you could know
Don't say it's too late to try
To make it right

Is there something I could say?
Show me how to break you down
So before you walk away
Take the time to turn around
Listen to me now

Maybe I, could have loved you
Maybe I, could have shown
That I still do care about you
More than you could know
Don't say it's too late to try

Maybe I, could have loved you
Maybe I, could have shown
That I still do care about you
More than you could know
Don't say it's too late to try
To make it right
Oh, to make it right
Make it right
Gonna make it right, oh, yeah

Simple song. The writer knows it's his fault for the fights and not showing how much he truly does care about her and love her. So he wants her to stop and listen, because he wants to "make it right," hence the title.

The boy feels like he loved the girl, but after everything that's happened he can't tell. He wants to blame it on her because he's so angry about the breakup though it really was his fault and he knows that. He clearly wants her back & doesn't know how to tell her, also he's scared she'll say it's too late.

Its obviously about someone the writer had a relationship with. They thought that person could have been the one but obviously so much has happened they are no longer together the fact that "wait around forever" is mentioned implies maybe it had something to do with timing or not doing enough to show they care, it also implies the person it is about has moved on with someone else that is why "But I'd like to say that it's your fault But I know better 'Cause I'm a fool to think You'd wait around forever". The song then goes on to say "Maybe I could have loved you" Generally it could be thought that he means he didn't love the person but instead I think it means loved them the way they wanted to be loved: commitment being in a relationship with the person because the previous verse showed that they loved the person just with the mention that they could have been the one also "Maybe I could have shown That I still do care about you more than you could know" Backs this up because the writer obviously is regretting not trying harder and committing themselves, the person that its about obviously had a previous relationship with the writer "I still do care about you" Overall It seems the writer is telling a story, the main point of it being a past relationship that is unresolved, The writer wants to blame the person its about because they have moved on but then goes on to express that they were not there and they didn't do enough therefore it is not the persons fault for moving on, however the writer does still care about the person because now that they are gone the writer is seeing everything they could have been and just wants a chance to make it right. The writer obviously has strong feeling as they say "Cause if I had one wish you'd be with me forever"

    Any just an interpretation ;)

Nick wrote this song and it's about his relationship with Selena Gomez after they broke up the first time around. I think it's basically about him realizing that he fell for her, but just couldn't see it at the time because they fought and split. After the breakup though, all he wants to do is make it right because it was his fault. Although, once they break up for the second time around and this is finally released off off JONAS LA for their show, he sings it in a livechat and changes the lyrics to "And I'd like to say it's my fault but I know better" to basically say that the second time around, it wasn't his fault because he truly did try, while she doubted him and broke it off before she left for half a year. It's a really beautiful song, I just wished Nick recorded this himself instead of using it for their Disney show.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
