While away the hour
into something new
Throw away the flower
they make you feel blue
Throwing stones at stranger
waiting for the fight
Throwing stones at birds who
struggle to take flight
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
Get it out your system
Get it out of you
Send them home with blisters
Send them home with truth
Send away the doubters
Blind them with your (hoof?)
Try to save the doubters
Try to sell the new
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
into something new
Throw away the flower
they make you feel blue
Throwing stones at stranger
waiting for the fight
Throwing stones at birds who
struggle to take flight
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
Get it out your system
Get it out of you
Send them home with blisters
Send them home with truth
Send away the doubters
Blind them with your (hoof?)
Try to save the doubters
Try to sell the new
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain
I am a dark cloud
swelling with rain

This song's chorus sounds so optimistic, but the verses and the lyrics are so sad ("Throwing stones at birds who struggle to take flight"). I understand that they may just be a metaphor for an extremely pessimistic person who likes to put other people down because their own life sucks. The person who is the "dark cloud" likes to rain (no pun intended) on everyone else's parade.
It's "send away the doubters", and yes, hoof is correct according to the lyrics on her website...
I think this song is meant to guide a distraught person. She tells herself to be productive, by using the "hour" to create "something new", and then "throw away the flower", perhaps given by the one who hurt her, which makes her "blue". I think the chorus is trying to make the pessimistic distraught person be more optimistic. She makes herself the distraught person saying she is a "dark" cloud, or one that is full of sadness, etc. which is sung more sadly, but then says that the "dark cloud" is "swelling with rain"- rain is something that purifies and brings hope, therefore sung in a more cheerful manner.
