The Co-Dependent Lyrics

Feels like we are married and I haven't run away, run away, run away
So many years I've carried you in my arms
Yet I stay, yet I stay, yet I stay
And still I come a-running when I hear the telephone, telephone, telephone
And I ask for absolutely nothing in return, in return, in return

I'm gonna watch you drink it all
I'm gonna watch you fall
You'll find me by your side
If you find me at all

So here it is on offer
Everything I have to give, have to give, have to give
My love for you allows me not to judge the way you live, way you live, way you live
So just remember that whenever you may feel alone, feel alone, feel alone
Yeah, I am here there's nothing to fear
I will be your home, be your home, be your home

I'm gonna watch you drink it all
I'm gonna watch you fall
You'll find me by your side
If you find me at all

I'm gonna watch you drink it all
I'm gonna watch you fall
You'll find me by your side
If you find me at all

I'm gonna watch you drink it all
I'm gonna watch you fall
You'll find me by your side
If you find me at all

I'm gonna watch you drink it all
I'm gonna watch you fall
You'll find me by your side
If you find me at all

Cover art for The Co-Dependent lyrics by Sia

I can't believe no one has commented on this fabulous song. It's so catchy and the chorus is haunting in a strange sort of way. It's definitely my favorite track from, "We Are Born."

As far as the meaning goes, I think it's quite self-explainatory.

Cover art for The Co-Dependent lyrics by Sia

When you love someone, you can't not pretend not to see the bad things in the person you love; you see only the good. You will watch your loved person fall and fail, but you can't stop them and admit they're doing something wrong. I think Sia here may be singing about a man/woman she loves that was a drug addict with her. She sees him/her as he/she drinks and falls, but she'll always be there for him/her no matter what, but she will never be able to help this person because her love just makes her blind (''my love for you allows me not to judge the way you live'') and she can't admit that he/she should stop and fight for her/his life. Plus she still was a drug addict too, so it would be very difficult for her to tell the person she loves to stop, while she would continue to fall. And so they fall together...

This is just my interpretation of this beautiful song.
