Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?

I feel it inside
Down in my soul
And I just can't hide things
That I know

We could be friends
And I promise that it won't get bad
But hopefully that story ends
But you ain't got nothing I never had
So let's take it slow

Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?

Someone must have loved you
Not the way that I do
You're missing what I'm trying to say
Ain't nothing getting in my way

So tell me that's fantastic
And promise me, you'll always sigh
I find it so romantic
When you look into my beautiful eyes
And lose control

Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?
Who let you go?

I don't know
What it means
But I've been wondering
Who let you go?

And honey
When you walk my way
It makes me wanna say
Oh

Sha-la-la-lo, sha-la-la-lo
Sha-la-la-lo, sha-la-la-lo

I think this song is glorious. The line "When you look into my beautiful eyes" is hysterical. True: his eyes are piercingly gorgeous, but the fact that he is the one saying it: f@ing hilarious! That verse is actually really sexy, beautiful, and romantic, though.

This is a great song. It's catchy and up-beat. I like the little tune in the beginning. And the lyrics are funny. I love The Killers!

Who Let You Go is an iTunes exclusive, but you can also find it on the b-side to the Australian Mr Brightside single. I think this song is basically about a guy wondering why someone dumped the girl he's with now? Like, "how could he do such a thing, she's perfect". But he doesn't want to ruin the relationship by going too fast ("let's take it slow").

i agree with andreaflowers about the song meanings, and you can download this song almost anywhere, actually...and i believe one of the fan sites has a place where you can listen to a few of their demos, this being one of them. i can't remember the site name though...maybe the killers network?

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.
