Yo
Konvict
Konvict Music (Tego Calderón)
(Snoop Dogg, Akon) and you know we up front

I see you windin' and grindin' up on the floor
I know you see me lookin' at you and you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know, girl

Money in the air as mo' fell
Grab you by your coattail
Take you to the motel, ho sale
Don't tell, won't tell
Baby say, "I don't talk Dogg"
Then she told on me, oh well
Take a picture with me, what the flick gon' do?
Baby, stick to me and I'ma stick on you
If you pick me then I'ma pick on you
D-O-double G and I'm here to put this on you
I'm stuck on and yours is right
Rip ridin' the poles and them doors is tight
And I'ma get me a shot 'fo the end of the night
'Cause, and baby your for life

I see you windin' and grindin' up on the floor
I know you see me lookin' at you and you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know, girl

Shorty, I can see you ain't lonely
Handful of, and they all got cheese
See you looking at me, now what it's gon' be?
Just another tease far as I can see
Tryna get you up out this club
If it means spendin' a couple dubs
Throwin' 'bout 30 stacks in the back
Make it rain like that 'cause I'm far from a scrub
You know my pedigree, ex-dealer used to move 'phetamines
Girl, I spend money like it don't mean nothin'
And besides, I got a thing for you

I see you windin' and grindin' up on the floor (ajá)
I know you see me lookin' at you and you already know ('tá bien)
I wanna love you (love you), you already know (tú sabes)
I wanna love you (love you), you already know, girl (mira, mira)

Ey, te mentí con lo de hacernos jevos, con lo del viejo
Pero, mucho gusto, yo soy Tego (just smoking, just smoking)
Tú te vas pa' encima cuando caminas (¿qué, qué?)
Tú eres mi budín de esquina (uy) (baby, I see you)

Girl, and while you're looking at me, I'm ready to hit the Caddy
Right up on the patio, move the patty to the Caddy
Baby, you got a fatty, the type I like to marry
Wanting to just give you everything and that's kinda scary
'Cause I'm lovin' the way you shake your ass
Bouncin', got me tippin' my glass
Normally don't get caught up too fast
But I got a thing for you

I see you windin' and grindin' up on the floor
I know you see me lookin' at you and you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know
I wanna love you (love you), you already know, girl (chula, chula)

Ando pensando en pájaro preñao' enchulao'
Me tienes bien emburrao'
En otra vida, te doy par de chamacos
En esta vine a romperte el trapo (ajá)
Na' de pensione', na' de embarazos
Si quiere uno yo trato (yo', yo')
Mamita, yo trato (¿tú tratas?)
(Yo', break it down for 'em real quick Tego)

Yo quiero darte (ayy) tabla (oh)
Mi chula, you know (ayy, oh)
Yo quiero darte (yeah) felpa
You already know, jaja (¿qué fue?)
(Wild, boy)

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
