shine bright like a diamond
i choose to be happy
you and i, you and i
we're like diamonds in the sky
a vision of ecstasy
when you hold me, i'm alive
we're like diamonds in the sky
a right away
at first sight, i felt the energy of sun rays
i saw the life inside your eyes
we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
eye to eye, so alive
we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
as we, moonshine and molly
feel the warmth we'll never die
we're like diamonds in the sky
a vision of ecstasy
when you hold me, i'm alive
we're like diamonds in the sky
i saw the life inside your eyes
we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky
shining bright like a diamond
shine bright like a diamond
we've beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds; LSD Moonshine; Alcohol Molly; nickname for ecstasy It sounds like drug related experiences with a person (or people) that she fell in love with. psychedelics can make people feel like theyre feeling the sun for the first time, and the feeling that they have become one with the people theyre having the experience with. She must of had a really great experience :D
This is a beautiful song about alcohol and drugs.

The first single from Rihanna's seventh album is a departure from the singer's recurring theme of an unhealthy relationship, as the Barbadian songstress croons of a bright love. "Find light in the beautiful sea. I choose to be happy. You and I, you and I. We're like diamonds in the sky," she sings. When asked about the mood of the song following her performance at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, Rihanna replied, "You're not sad. You're happy and hippie. It's hopeful. It gives me a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are hopeful and positive. It's about love and the gears are different than what people will expect."
The song was premiered on September 26, 2012 during Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and was made available for digital download an hour later.
Sia Furler wrote the song. The Australian singer-songwriter has also crafted tunes for the likes of Christina Aguilera and Madonna, but this was the first time Rihanna had recorded something penned by her. Sia is also a performer in her own right, having released several albums over the course of her career, as well as providing vocals on hit singles by the likes of David Guetta ("Titanium") and Flo Rida ("Wild Ones").
This was produced by the Norwegian production duo Stargate and Benjamin "Benny Blanco" Levin. Whilst it was the first time that Blanco had worked with Rihanna, the Bajan star had previously hooked up with Stargate for a number of her hit singles including "Take A Bow," "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name?."
Rihanna previously sung about love and diamonds when she pondered the existence of both on her 2011 hit, "We Found Love" ("Yellow diamonds in the light. And we're standing side by side. As your shadow crosses mine. What it takes to come alive").
The song describes the heightened sensory, almost psycotic effect that sex ('I knew that we'd become one right away' and 'when you hold me, I'm alive') can have on some individuals. In the music video, she is running under an aurora, and then suddenly stops to look at it. She is captivated (imprisoned?) at the vastness and beauty of it (the aurora symbolising the lover's spirit that she carries with her). The love is all-consuming for both of them, especially for her. Yet there is some inner-conflict within her, because she is losing herself, her peace (the ocean) in the experience of giving herself unto him.
I can definitely see the "drug reference" in this song. Especially at this point in my life, being that I myself am in such a very similar situation. It has such a deep meaning to me right now. Listening to it, hurts my heart in a good and bad way.
This song is quite ironic. It's a love song however with the reference of moonshine and molly you can assume it is a dangerous relationship between addicts. The song talks about shining bright like a diamond and how beautiful both of them are, but from an outsiders point of view, it would be quite horrific and possibly abusive with illicit drugs involved.
Like when they are tripping they think they are beautiful like diamonds, when really they are literally dragging each other through a parking lot.
This song was written by Sia who used to be an alcoholic and addict
Surprised that none have commented on the content of the song itself. Its a pretty obvious interpretation of course about love and how someone felt when they met someone they felt an attraction too.
Personally i have felt exactly as what the song tells. I met that special someone that really does shine like like a star. She even shone so bright that i initially was a bit blinded, but over that first night i adjusted and i had one of the best nights ever.
Right now i am in a rather dark place with myself because things over time got out of hand and its pretty messed up between us and i don't know how to fix things between us or even if they can be fixed but listening to this song cheers me up because it reminds me of the happy times we had together before this mess started and the passion and the fun we shared.
