One Promise Lyrics
the room's been dark since yesterday
Making sure the door's locked
Making sure the toys are put away
you disappear without a sound
Tie it up and tear it down
One promise ruin everything
I never noticed the way you look at me
A deception you can't keep from me
waiting for the light to disappear
I wonder where the night went
looking down the road that led us here
But that was in another life
And I can't wait another night
One promise ruin everything
I never noticed the dying energy
A deception you can't keep from me
One promise ruin everything
I never noticed the way you look at me
A deception you can't keep from me
Is it about Lolita? I've never read the book or watched the movies, but some of the lyrics are similar to Blue Jeans by Lana Del Rey, mainly the December lines, trying to remember love, never noticing that a person fell out of love with you, etc.
It's probably a long shot and has nothing to do with Lolita, but I have no idea and I really want answers as to what this song is about, lol.
@peril2pancakes I think it's about being deceived in a relationship, controlled and being fooled and used.

"you disappear without a sound, tie it up and tear it down" i think that means that the other person always does what they wish, control everything, ruin everything and just leave whenever they want.

"Making sure the door's locked, making sure the toys are put away" i think the writer is saying that they are always the one making sure everything's okay, and tidying up all they mess the other person leaves. Maybe locking the door to protect themselves?...

Maybe the big deception in the chorus is not being properly loved and they are finally realising. The other person promised they loved them and would never leave or hurt them or whatever, but obviously theyve been breaking that promise over time.
They probably made that promise in december :P
"I never notice the way you look at me" is probably that they never noticed what the other person really thought of them.
