Ain't It Fun Lyrics
Letting you down easy but just give it time
If it don't hurt now, but just wait, just wait a while
You're not the big fish in the pond no more
You are what they're feeding on
When the world don't orbit around you
So what are you gonna do
When the world don't orbit around you
Living in the real world
Ain't it good
Being all alone
You might be the one who's running things
Well you can ring anybody's bell and get what you want
See it's easy to ignore trouble
When you're living in a bubble
When the world don't orbit around you
So what are you gonna do
When nobody wants to fool with you
Living in the real world
Ain't it good
Being all alone
Ain't it good to be on your own
Ain't it fun, you can't count on no one
Ain't it good to be on your own
Ain't it fun you can't count on no one
Ain't it fun
Living in the real world
'Cause you're on you're own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on you're own, in the real world
'Cause you're on you're own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on you're own, in the real world
Baby now you're one of us
Ain't it fun, ain't it fun, ain't it fun
Living in the real world
Ain't it good, ain't it good
Being all alone
Ain't it fun
Living in the real world
('Cause the world don't orbit around you)
Ain't it good, ain't it good
Being all alone
'Cause you're on your own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on your own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on your own, this is the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on your own,
In the real world (This is the real world, this is the real world)
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on your own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
'Cause you're on your own, in the real world
Don't go crying to your mama
Don't go crying
"Aint It Fun" is an incredible song musically!
I love that beyond the essential message of the song, it really has a story: it starts off with Hayley giving this person a reality check, saying it's gonna be hard at first but you can do it - we all have to.
"Where ya from you might be the one who's running things Where you can ring anybody's bell And get what you want See its easy to ignore trouble when you're living in a bubble"
This verse is really saying, in your circles, you're the one pulling the strings, everybody's running around after you, doing what you want them to, and when you live in a bubble like that, it's easy not to see real problems in the World. You're living a selfish life and not giving anyone else around you a second thought.
It's about giving yourself a kick up the butt and telling you that the World don't revolve around you - there are 8 billion other people in the World, and they aren't just there to decorate YOUR life. It's a reminder that you gotta wake up and take responsibility for your own mistakes, your own life, stop expecting others to pick up after you.
That's a beautiful interpretation :] I think it's about getting ready to leave home and being strong when your on your own in the real world. I definitely see the story of a cocky kid going out into the real world and getting a reality check.

I think it's such a feel good, stay strong kind of song. This is the real world and we're here too. I think that's what she's saying.

I love the gospel-funk feel towards the end of the song !

"Don’t go crying to your mama 'Cause you’re on your own In the real world"...
"Don’t go crying to your mama 'Cause you’re on your own In the real world"
This song is about showing someone the truth about themselves. They spent their whole life cooped up in a false reality, or closed in, and now that they're in the real world they finally see that everything is not how it was back home; about them. She's being sarcastic when she says "Aint it fun, living in the real world?" Because everything's not all fun and games anymore, and you cant go crying to your mom every time things get rough.
There is optimism in the lyrics "Baby, now you're one of us". That sounds like an invitation. The idea is that the real world can still be fun, if you face it with integrity.

I think it's about accepting life for what it is. You can never escape it. Your in the real world. Start living.
Essentially, we all have to grow up and make our own decisions. We each have to be our own person and not depend entirely on others. You can try and avoid life, but soon it catches up to you. To learn how to be independent, you must take chances and make mistakes and learn from them. No one will be with you every step of the way and no one will be there to clean up your messes. This is the real world and the world will not wait for you.

Dam I love haleys voice. But simply put it mainly directed to girsl who are so popular but when you get in the real world you see your looks and social status will get used up and eventually you will be washed up my fav part is reminds me of my ex "What you going to do when nobody wants to fool with you" once your small town innocence is gone and you played slut all around nobody wants you now in the end when everybodys has had you wise words haley sayings.
Easy, it's about people who move out thinking they're invincible and can handle it living in their own but then soon realize they've failed to accept the responsibility that comes with it, and that their parents won't be there to help them all the time.
This song is about that period in your 20s where some people grow up and flourish, and then some people stay stuck in high school forever. And the ones who end up stuck are usually the ones who whine about how hard life is even though they've had the same opportunities as the rest of us. Basically, the song is saying "life is hard, get over it"
As I recall it, the concept of this song was mostly created by Taylor York. It's not what it seems. I think it is about their/his self-deprecating reaction to the messy dissolution and continuance of "the band" and surrounding difficulties and wondering if he/they hadn't got themselves into more than they can handle and sort of sneering at themselves to harden up, even though they have no chance in hell of becoming the hardened monsters they say they have to be. It just doesn't sit right that this song could be about "giving someone a reality check" and talking about their privileged postion, when Hayley et. al. know damn well how privileged their position is. It would be a level of ignorance the rest of the songs on the album wouldn't allow. People can live in bubbles of privilege they can't see, but the idea of Paramore ragging on them and telling them to grow up doesn't make sense, since they know that the world will beat down and keep down anyone it likes. "Ain't it fun" isn't about becoming more brutal to vulnerable people hwo can't cope. If this song is about advocating sociopathy, then it is a moment of extreme hyypocrisy in the same way that "Still into you" is a moment of extreme vulnerabilitly.
I think Ain't It Fun is about when you move out of your hometown after graduating. It's about being on your own, and being a little uncomfortable about it. The line, "Well you can ring anybody's bell to get what you want", paints a picture of when you are smaller and whenever you want something, you usually get it and now as a young adult, you're on your own and you're facing the real world. I think the idea is that you should enjoy being a kid while you can, before you actually have to face the real world.
