I'm writing it out, loud.
We don't talk about the past
We don't talk about the past, now
I'm leaving a key here
Something won't always be missing
It won't always feel empty, here
And think of your dreams
You'll get away from here
You'll get away eventually
Think of a new life
Don't get lost in the memories
Keep your eyes on a new rise

The build up in this song is perfect! I find this song so inspirational too!

I think this is a song directed towards people who are feeling lost or maybe even suicidal. The instrumentals in this song add to the feeling. It seems like Hayley is directly addressing you, personally. Like she's giving you advice when you're in the middle of a crisis. She's telling you to stop thinking about all the bad things that happened in the past, and all the bad things that are happening right now, and to just focus on the future. I love that the song has a crashing, monumental buildup. It seems symbolic of letting go of all the horrible things that might have happened before in someone's life.

"We don't talk about the past" The entire album is about breaking free from the past and finally experiencing a new life, moving on to better things and being happy. The future has endless possibilities and opportunities, so this is why you must always keep moving forward. "Future" is an excellent ending to the album!
