It's all in motion
No stoppin' now
I've got nothin' to lose
And only one way up

I'm burning bridges
I destroy the mirage
Oh, visions of collisions
Fuckin 'bon voyage

It's all smooth sailing
From here on out

I got bruises and hickies
Stitches and scars
Got my own theme music
It plays wherever I are

Fear is the hand
That pulls your strings
A useless toy
Pitiful plaything

I'm inflagranti
In every way

It's all smooth sailing
From here on out
I'm gon' do the damage
That needs gettin' done

God only knows
Where love vacations
If reason is priceless
There's no reason to pay for it

It's so easy to see
And so hard to find
Make a mountain of a mole hill
If the mole hill is mine

I hypnotize you
And no one can find you
I blow my load
Over the status quo
Here we go

I'm a little bit nonchalant
But I dance
I'm risking it always
No second chance

It's gonna be smooth sailing
From here on out
I'm gon' do the damage
'Til the damage is done yeah

God only knows
So mind your behavior
Follow prescriptions
Of your lord and savior

Every temple is gold
Every hook is designed
Hell is but the temple
Of the closed mind
Closed mind
Closed mind
Closed mind

It's all smooth sailing
From here on out

Shut up

Pow!

Correct lyrics from the ...Like Clockwork Double LP:

It's all in motion, ain't no stopping it now I got nothing to lose & only one way, up I'm burning bridges, I destroy the mirage All visions of collisions, fuckin' bon voyage

It's all smooth sailing from here on out

I got: bruises & hickies, stitches & scars Got my own theme music, plays wherever I are Fear is the hand that pulls your strings A useless toy, pitiful plaything I'm in flagrante, in every way, every day

It's all smooth sailing from here on out I'm gonna do the damage that needs getting done

God only knows one long vacation If reason is priceless, there's no reason to pay for it It's so easy to see, yet so hard to find Make a mountain of a mole hill, if the mole hill is mine

I hypnotize you, ignore you, then defy you I blow my load over the status quo... oh... here we go I'm a little bit nonchalant when I dance I risk it all-ways, no second chance, that's why it's gotta be

It's gonna be smooth sailing from here on out I'm gonna do the damage 'til the damage is done

God only knows, so mind your behaviour Follow prescriptions of your loaded saviour Every temple needs gold, every hook needs to shine

Headaches at the temple of the closed mind

It's all smooth sailing from here on out

    Shut up

    Pow!

Seems this song is about people ignoring consequences and doing as they please then reasoning behind religion. "God only knows" is used twice. On one occasion he suggests doing what you like and if you can reason it with god your ok:

Well god only knows One long vacation If reason is priceless There's no reason to pay for it

Then another occasion he is feigning a pious sense of right and wrong:

God only knows So mind your behavior Follow prescriptions Of your loaded savior

Reminding you to reason your behavior according to your chosen faith. Then he suggests possible reasoning for doing what you like:

Every temple needs gold Every hook needs to shine

The "smooth sailing" is just used as a depiction of no one getting in the way of what you wana do and ignore the fear and disregard getting caught "I'm in flagrante In every way, every day".

For my money this song seems government directed

Seems to me that Like Clockwork is a sort of concept album. Bear with me:

The music video for My God Is The Sun has several undead creatures summoned to the center of a city, where they enter the mouth of some sort of eldritch monster, which then destroys the city and possibly the world. This creature is the "Vampyre of Time and Memories," and the video tell the story of an alternate ending to the album.

In the beginning, the narrator of the album is disillusioned and depressed after being dumped by his girlfriend. He is approached by the leader of an apocalyptic cult, who wins him over with promises of otherworldly power- this occurs during "If I Had A Tail," which then segues immediately into "My God is the Sun." Here he's attending one of their ceremonies and watching them perform sacrifices in preparation for the apocalypse. He's both impressed and horrified, and has an internal struggle over what to do- this is "Kalopsia." Trent Reznor represents his evil side, pushing him toward joining the cult.

He ends up doing so, and writes off the woman who dumped him as a "Fairweather Friend." "Smooth Sailing" is the leadup to the apocalypse. He's got nothing to lose. He's going to help them summon the Vampyre and destroy the world. But at the last minute he is overwhelmed and becomes paralyzed- "I Appear Missing." For the first time he sees his life objectively and does not perform his role in the apocalyptic ceremony. The end of the world does not come about.

The final track, "Like Clockwork," reflects on how the world has gone about its business without any knowledge of the disaster that almost occurred.

Just my 2 cents...but I feel like queens are more political than people give them credit for. When I hear this song I think of the person being elected to POTUS (President of the USA). Listen from that point of view thats all im saying.

It's all in motion, no stopping it now. I got nothing to lose & only one way, up I'm burning bridges, I destroy the mirage. All visions of collisions, fuckin' bon voyage *** The decision is made to clearly not give a shit what other people think. Fuck you and your feelings, your beliefs, your everything. Most importantly, fuck you. He's intent on making his attitude known, and cutting through the bullshit.

It's all smooth sailing from here on out *** Life is grande without walking on eggshells.

I got: bruises & hickies, stitches & scars. Got my own theme music, plays wherever I are He wears his attitude on his sleeve. Fear is the hand that pulls your strings. A useless toy, pitiful plaything Pretty self explanatory. Fear is what drives you, you're a tool. I'm in flagrante, in every way, every day *** flagrante, caught in the act. He's a "sinner". He's a blasphemer. He makes you question what you believe. He's asking you to appeal to reason.

It's all smooth sailing from here on out I'm gonna do the damage that needs getting done ***The truth shall you free. (however subjective it may be.)

Well god only knows one long vacation Where is god? Apparently not here. Evidence of supernatural anything, anywhere ever is where??? If reason is priceless, there's no reason to pay for it If reason is priceless, then why do you pay your church 10% of your income? All the gold to the churches? What does god need with material? It's so easy to see, and so hard to find. Make a mountain of a molehill, if the molehill is mine ***Your belief > mine? Imma build a temple too. It's only a molehill at the moment, wait till I get some gold on the ceiling!

I hypnotize you, ignore you, defy you I blow my load over the status quo... here we go I'm a little bit nonchalant when I dance I risk it all-ways, no second chance, it's gotta be ***Seems to be directed at a woman. And his attitude is what is the main attraction to her. He's brutally honest, but at the same time a "bad-boy". Her parents and friends probably hate him. He's the rebel she always wanted to be? He shits all over everything that is "sacred" to these people.

Smooth sailing from here on out I'm gonna do the damage 'til the damage is done ***So be it. (amen) Take it or leave it. He gives a shit.

Well god only knows, so mind your behavior. Follow prescriptions of your loaded savior A pot shot at fake christians, which are the many. Got pills? But you're not a drug addict! You're better than me?! Or you're really just a hypocrite? You're really in a position to judge aren't ya, junkie? I wonder how many pastors and preachers would pass drug tests if given?? People are hypocrites key lesson. Every temple needs gold, every hook needs to shine Yes the temple needs gold, material wealth. It's ran by men. They got their hooks in you, the gold is what lures you. Shiny, precious. Utterly fake.

Headaches at the temple of the closed mind - Ignorance, and blissfully so at these temples. Knowledge is forbidden. Times in history where if you spoke against the church and it's dogma you would be literally crucified. Dogma is the keyword.

It's all smooth sailing from here on out ***Amen

Shut up *** his attitude conveyed oh so clearly. Ya braindead funditard motherfuckers. Stfu. :D But this is more of a playful shut up, directed at the woman. And it conveys exactly what attracts her to him.

This is my take on it! More than anything else, it's about being brutally honest about what you think. Whatever subject that may be.

I think it's about mental disorders, especially bi polar, I think the song could be about the mania part of bi polar. The hallucinations, inflated ego, and the risky behaviour is more noticeable when the highs are higher and the lows are lower.

"It's all smooth sailing from here on out" It's hard to do things when your in the low parts but in the high mania motivation is a lot easier to find.

"If reason is priceless there's no reason to pay for it" Prescriptions can be pretty expensive and most people don't want to take them anyway

"I'll make a mountain of a molehill if the molehill is mine" If you want to use it as an excuse you can, because people can't tell you what state you're in, but there's no logic so you won't know if you're being realistic or not, at least not for a while.

This song has a similar feel like Misfit Love. Probably about sex (the desire to have it) and being awesome, like Josh is promoting his mind and body?
