Hey brother! There's an endless road to rediscover
Hey sister! Know the water's sweet but blood is thicker
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey brother! Do you still believe in one another?
Hey sister! Do you still believe in love? I wonder
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?
Oh brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh sister, I will help you out
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey brother! There's an endless road to rediscover

    Song Meaning

This song is about being there for each other, I believe. where he starts with Hey Brother or Hey Sister, he is trying to tell or teach his brothers and sisters (which I do think can be either family or other loved ones) something about their lives: brother, there is so much left to do in life, even what you did can feel as new; and sister, know when you need to be serious. And asking if they are still able to trust their love, which makes me think they already have had a hard time. For any other hard times coming up for his brothers and sisters, he is going to be there for them no matter what, obviously. All the other pieces of lyric are pretty much about that. Also, I think the bros and sisters he is talking to are younger or can really need some help, because they may be vulnarable in some way. that is because of those questions in the chorus like What if I lose it all?

    My Interpretation

Really, I want to say some of you really do have some wild topics... Anyways the song talks about each one of us, Brother and Sister being Man and woman. "There's an endless road to rediscover" to go back and realize that the end isn't the end but a beginning. "Know the water's sweet but blood is thicker" this means that your blood (family) is thinker and stronger then anyone else and will be there by your side. "if the sky comes falling down, for you There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do" If anything is to happen, Ill be there for you for anything you need. "Do you still believe in one another" Meaning he is trying to prove a point between the two that do you still believe we will be there for on another. "Do you still believe in love?" family love for one another. "What if I'm far from home? Oh brother, I will hear you call!" meaning that he will know what is wrong, and he will realize it and come home. "What if I lose it all? Oh sister, I will help you hang on!" If death is the last chance I will be by your side standing strong keeping you from the wrong.

    My Interpretation

I've a twin. He's my brother and his name is tattooed on my achilles tendon. He has my name tattooed on his foot. I'll always be there for him. We lived together until we got 19th years. Now he moved away. I always have to think about him, hearing this song. it's like OUR song. I hope he's well and happy.

    Love you, Yannick <3

After first hearing this song my thoughts were: Have "Soggy bottom boys" gone pop and techno?

Indeed they have. The singer is the same as in the "Man of constant sorrow" and the Cohens' "O brother where art thou" is a direct inspiration for the music and lyrics.

O brother wher art thou is rooted in Odyssey, although set in 1930s, but the themes of brotherly love are universal and have not changed much form the philadelphia of the times in which the original Odyssey was written.

    My Interpretation

My interpretation of this song brings me to our military men and women. Often they are looked at as brothers and sisters in arms, and with many coming home from Iraq or Afghanistan wounded or dealing with their own inner deamons whether it be from what they saw or did, this song basically says call me no matter what I will be there for you and help you get through anything.

Oh my god stop thinking he has a deep meaning with this stupid song! I imagine Avicii going to the studio and saying to his manager/agent/producer/whatever "Hey (managers name), I really have a cool beat here, come listen. Could you find me some deep song shit I can write into my song and make it sound like I'm actually a deep fucking person?" Cause that's what we Swedish people do

I'd love to here an AKUS version of this song. Allison Kraus and Dan Tyminski would nail it

So this has been.my favorite song of OTEP's since it came out in 2004, and I always thought it was a song about a child's narrative of suffering in an abusive Christian home. But now that I am revisiting the lyrics, I am seeing something totally new. This song could be gospel of John but from the perspective of Jesus. Jesus was NOT having a good time up to and during the crucifixion. Everyone in the known world at the time looked to him with fear, admiration or disgust and he was constantly being asked questions. He spoke in "verses, prophesies and curses". He had made an enemy of the state, and believed the world was increasingly wicked and fallen from grace, or that he was in the "mouth of madness". The spine of atlas is the structure that allows the titan to hold the world up. Jesus challenged the state and in doing so became a celebrated resistance figure. It also made him public enemy #1. All of this happened simply because he was doing his thing, not because of any agenda he had or strategy. And then he gets scourged (storm of thorns) There are some plot holes here but I think it's an interesting interpretation.

Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
