Pantomime Lyrics

You've got me feeling like a pantomime
That's why I only love you part time
It's just a matter of "oh, don't touch me,
don't you, don't you touch me no more"

You got me feeling like a paradigm
Your friends all want me in the meantime
It's just a matter of "oh, don't touch me,
don't you, don't you touch me no more"

Hey, you got all the money, honey
Your eyes are looking runny and red
Hey, you think all your friends are funny
But all your friends are way overfed

You left me, baby, for another man
He's looking tall, he's got a deep tan
It's just a matter of "oh, don't touch me,
don't you, don't you touch me no more"

He's got religious with the rhinestones
Takes care of business on his cellphone
It's just a matter of "oh, don't touch me,
don't you dare touch me no more"

Hey, you got all the money, honey
Your eyes are looking runny and red
Hey, you think all your friends are funny
But all your friends are way overfed

If you've gotta go, I won't stop you
You'll hear me singing you
"Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us"

If he's got a chest and some arms
He'll hear me singing you
"Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us"

Hey, you got all the money, honey
Your eyes are looking runny and red
Hey, you think all your friends are funny
But all your friends are way overfed

If you've gotta go, I won't stop you
You'll hear me singing you
"Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us"

If he's got a chest and some arms
He'll hear me singing you
"Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us"

I think this song is about a girl that left the person she loved for someone with money, but they don't love each other.

"Hey, you got all the money honey Your eyes are looking runny and red" ^She has money but she's been crying.

"You left me, baby, for another man, He's looking tall, he's got a deep tan... ...He's got religious with the rhinestones Takes care of business on his cell phone" ^The singer says that she left him for a man (who he sounds jealous of) with lots of money

"If you've gotta go, I won't stop you You'll hear me singing you 'Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us'" ^if she leaves her boyfriend/husband, she makes it easier for everyone, rather than staying upset

"If he's got a chest and some arms, He'll hear me singing you 'Glory! Glory! Hallelujah... You've made it easy for the both of us'" ^if he can learn to show affection to her (chest and arms=hugging her), she makes it easier for everyone by choosing to love her boyfriend/husband

~those are my thoughts, anyway. :)

I believe this song is about a relationship that was ended mutually. "You've made it easy for the both of us."

But it also seems to me that he is a bit jealous. I dunno.

My Interpretation

As everyone else seems to think, I don't think it's about a relationship that ended because the girl left him for someone with money and a good body. This is my interpretation:

He is singing about his mother and the new guy she met, from the perspective of him when he was a teenager. She left Dan's dad for someone with a lot more money, and a great body. Now, that she found her "new love", Dan is kind of getting left out. Now, Dan's mom has always been there for him, but now when the new love has come, he only loves her part time, since her new boyfriend is getting more in the picture. Sometimes his mom also feels like she needs to be alone with her boyfriend, so all Dan is getting from her sometimes: Don't you touch me, or you're gonna ruin my relationship with this man, or something like that.Because, you know... kids, they can be kind of annoying in front of the boyfriend! I know it, because I am still a kid! ;) Jokes aside, now he says she has all the money with her new "man", but her eyes are runny and red. That means she is not living happily with all the money. She misses her husband, and realises that she made a huge mistake. Then he turns to the new man, and points out that he's imagining that his friends are overall awesome, but they're simply not. Now he's stating more clearly that his mother's priorities goes like this: 1. Boyfriend. 2. Taking care of Dan. He gets the feeling, that he's left out all alone. And that he's tall and got a deep tan, might be the meaning of that it's a beasty man, that eventually punished Dan physichally. Now he's stating about how the new guy takes care of his work. He complains about it to his mother, and she says for the fourth time: Get off me, no more whining. Now he is repeating about the money, the unhappiness in his mother's eyes, the new man's friends that are literally no good. Now he thinks that this might be the end of their relationship, so he makes it clear to his mother, that it is more that okay for him that she leaves the guy.

This is my thoughts - am I completely out of my mind with my different thought of the song?

Uh, can we address the elephant in the room? “You think all your friends are funny, but all your friends are way over fed.” WTF!

@MJ26gaming All her friends are rich and spoiled.
