Send me your location
Let's focus on communicatin' 'cause
I just need the time and place to come through
(A place to come through)
Send me your location
Let's ride the vibrations
I don't need nothin' else but you (I don't need nothin' else but)

At times I wonder why I fool with you
But this is new to me, this is new to you
Initially, I didn't wanna fall for you
Gather my attention it was all for you, so don't
Take advantage, don't leave my heart damaged
I understand that things go a little bit better when you plan it, oh

So won't you send me, your location
Let's focus on communicatin' 'cause
I just need the time and place to come through
Send me your location
Let's ride the vibrations
I don't need nothin' else but you (I don't need nothin' else)

I don't wanna fall in love off of subtweets so
Let's get personal
I got a lot of cool spots that we can go
Tell me what's the move and I got you
I'm only actin' like this 'cause I like you
Just give me the vibe to slide in
Oh, I might make you mine by the night, and

Send me your location
Let's focus on communicatin' 'cause
I just need the time and place to come through
(A place to come through)
Send me your location
Let's ride the vibrations
I don't need nothin' else but you (I don't need nothin' else but you)

Ride, ride, ride, come and vibe with me tonight
I don't need nothin' else but you
(I don't need nothin' else but you)
Ride, ride, ride, come and vibe with me tonight
I don't need nothin' else but you
Nothin' else but you, oh

Do, do, do, do, do, do
Oh, oh, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, mmm, mmm, mmm
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do

Oh, I don't need nothin' else but you

    Song Meaning

In an interview with Pigeons & Planes, Khalid said about this song: "‘Location’ is a story of young love. The kind of love that you would travel all over the country to find. It’s just a story of searching for something that we all want in life no matter who we are and that’s a real genuine lover, but it doesn’t come easy."

    My Interpretation

To me, this song is about falling in love so fast, you have to get a general idea of where you are in the relationship. When he says, "Send me your location", he's asking her "What are we?" or "Where are we in our relationship?" and he doesn't know where they are in the relationship (which is why he is asking her), so the line after "Send me your location" is "Let's focus on communicatin'." (I don't know where we are.) So, so far, our "translation" (if you will) is telling us "Where are we in our relationship/What are we because I don't know where we are." The rest is kinda straight-forward: she has sex with him, answering his question in the first place.

My summary for this song is simple. It's about a couple that don't know they're a couple. They have no idea where they are in the relationship and it's kind of a scary feeling, so this song is about getting out of the stage in your relationship where you are scared shitless (because there's a chance that he will leave the relationship a sad and broken man) and have no idea what the next move is, as far as who I identify myself with this person (Am I her friend, boyfriend, etc.?). The end kinda takes the pressure off. He eventually comes to the conclusion that he should make himself vulnerable to her, and she has sex with him. I guess the question of this story is also it's moral: Isn't it sort of humanizing to be vulnerable to at least an extent?

    General Comment

Haven't you used an iPhone? He's obviously trying to ask this girl for her location. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
