I think the song is about a relationship in the perspective of a woman who’s become a spectator of her own relationship. Like it rambles in about recognize your low beams through fairly opaque blinds in the sitting room and how she tries to call him but gets sucked into a hole through the handheld device. And like when it says it’s the big night in tinsel city, it’s mocking the exucuses the guy makes to go out. If you pay attention to the lyrics, every single phrase points out to this
