This song sounds a lot like a big party. “Magic city”, a city has a magical feel to it, like the emerald city from the wizard of Oz (thinkin NY, LA, Hollywood, etc.) im gonna jump around on lyrics, bear with me. I wont pore over every lyric either, because i cant interperet everything.
“You put me up here in the penthouse” Penthouse apartments are the top of the tower, best and biggest apartment at the top of a building. Its like a house on top of a skyscraper.
“painted me red white in blue” im definitely assuming this is in America. It just makes sense to me, i guess. I think he was hailed by the people and given the best treatment here.
“Let me take you this far This crossing isn’t much to me” He’s showing someone around, probably the same person mentioned later on
