Follow that sea
Chase what you know
Cover your your weave
Jump in the fall

Yo, yeah, yo
Uh, uh, uh
Is this the way that you want it to end?
Is this the way that you leave me?
I already told you I don't wanna be friends
What's it gonna take for you to believe me?
Is this the way that you want it to end?
Is this the way that you leave me?
Is this the way that you want to pretend?
Is this the way that you see me?

Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, bring hope when you come around)
Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, I still smile when you come around)
Yeah, I still smile when I come around
Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, bring hope when you come around)

Is this the way that you leave me? (Yo, yo, yeah, bring hope when you come around)

Yeah, I still smile when you come around
Yeah

What's it like where you are from?
Are you just a heart attack
Buy one up and make it your home
Apparitions of your love
Have you seen them falling short

Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, bring hope when you come around)
Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, I still smile when you come around)
Yeah, bring hope when you come around
Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, I still smile when I come around)
Is this the way that you, way that you are? (Yeah, bring hope when you come around)

Is this the way that you leave me? (Yeah, I still smile when I come around)

Yeah, I bring hope
I bring hope, yeah
I bring hope, yeah
I bring hope, yeah
Bring hope when you come around

Yeah, gee I don't
Sometimes I ask myself, like
You know, what is going to take for me not be afraid
To be loved the way, like, I really wanna be loved
But that I know how I really wanna be loved
But I'm, but I'm, like, scared to really, really feel that
You know, it's like you want something but you don't know if you can handle it

Don't let me in
You are the only one
You give me that hope that, um you know (Don't look again)
Maybe one day I'll get over my fears and I'll receive (You'll be the only one)
You'll be the only one (Follow that sea)

Chase what you know
Cover your weave
Jump in the fall
Follow that sea
Chase what you know (You'll be the only one)
Cover your weave
Jump in the fall

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
