Religion Lyrics
Let's sleep in the dark's day
All our minds made up now
All our beds are made
No one's out of time, no
Chips fall wherever they may
Leave it all behind, let the ocean wash it away
For you, there's only love
For you, there's only love
It never was about the party or the clubs
For you, there's only love
You're how I'm living
When all my friends say I should take some space
Well I can't envision, that for a minute
When I'm down on my knees, you're how I pray
Hallelujah, I need your love
Hallelujah, I need your love
No more cloudy days, even when
The storms come, in the eye we'll stay
No need to survive now
All we do is play, all I hear is
Music like Lay Lady Lay
With you, there's only love
With you, there's only love
It never was about the party or the clubs
For you, there's only love
You're how I'm living
When all my friends say I should take some space
Well I can't envision, that for a minute
When I'm down on my knees, you're how I pray
Hallelujah, I need your love
Hallelujah, I need your love
You're how I'm living
When all my friends say I should take some space
Well I can't envision, that for a minute
When I'm down on my knees, you're how I pray
Hallelujah, I need your love
Hallelujah, I need your love

Love this song!!!! Basically this song is a love song sort of similar concept to Madonna's "Like a Prayer", you're so in love with the person that you worship them, you devote your life to them, your body and soul to them. You get sooo blinded by love that you don't listen to other people's advice, "When all my friends say I should take some space, Well I can't envision". You leave your past life and habits behind and they mean nothing as long as you are with that person forever, "Hallelujah, I need your love". Love is intoxicating.

I think this song is about how she gets into a relationship with someone she never thought she'd be with and her life suddenly becomes all about him. In the song, she's calling him "her religion" because she can't live without him because he took over her life. In other words, she enters an mentally abusive relationship with someone who becomes her whole world, destructing everything around them.

The second line is "let sleeping dogs lay"
I think it's about diving into a new relationship and they automatically become your whole life, they're the only person you spend time with and you do everything with them. It kinda sounds dangerous but addictive.
Or maybe it's an old relationship, but same principle
And the "it never was about the party, drugs, money, clubs, for you there's only love" might mean that he is putting all his effort and time into her too FOR ONCE YAY

This is about the bloody end of a relationship, a sinking ship and one's total devotion to it and the end any way.
