You have the power
You wear the crown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You wield the scepter
You wear the gown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
In your empire
They stare and frown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You will wear your independence like a crown
Cruciger globus
You stand your ground
The orb disfigured
What's flat looks round
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You will wear your independence like a crown
You wear the crown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You wield the scepter
You wear the gown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
In your empire
They stare and frown
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You will wear your independence like a crown
Cruciger globus
You stand your ground
The orb disfigured
What's flat looks round
From the pinnacle to the pit
It is a long way down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You are cast out from the heavens to the ground
Blackened feathers falling down
You will wear your independence like a crown

Actually I think this has more of populist political message in it than one of "satan" per se, with the standard Ghost coverings on it as to not break from their personas. Ghost is from Sweden, a pretty socialist country, and I think that this song and the video are them advocating for social, and it could be read as economic, equality. It's about toppling the elites, the ones that have power, wear crowns and gowns, wield scepters and globus crucigers will build their ivory towers so tall that eventually it will fall, and when it does... Well, it's a long, long way down.
Luckily this sort of message does correlate to the message Lucifer was preaching before he was cast out from heaven (to the ground) so Ghost is able to stay in character while writing a song with a much more socially aware message than they have previously
This a political and spiritual message.
For we only know what what written in the bible by man that has been manipulated by the catholic churches.
Reminds me of the story of the tower of babel. When man kind came together as one to prove to god they didnt need him by building a tower that could reach the heavens but god intervened and confused everyones languages to where they could not continue.
Lucifer was cast from the heavens because he somehow got past not being able to have free will along with 1/3 of the angels.
Its rather irony that lucifer was cast put because he refused to bow to man kind by gods order. But then again it also proved this god is indeed imperfect for the fact all the angels have no free will but somehow lucifer with a 1/3 of the angels managed to gain free will.
@xzantronos part of the problem I have with the Bible ... how much of it was edited to benefit those writing it??
@sokorny a lot of it plus the missing books no one is allowed to see kept by the vatican.
Members of of the sub level of the elite structure have tried to get me to join. I was fortunate enough to have had my eyes opened before i was pulled in.
My grandfather was a mason as well as a few other relatives with my ancestry linking back to the merovingians.
Sometimes to get a message out is to masquerade as something dark and sinister and hope people are able to interperate correctly.

I love this song because in a way i can relate as im not the normal person of society that society has tried to make me comform and drug me to fix my mental illness that they think i have.
At 17 years of age i was getting ready to commit suicide and perhaps i did but not literally because something happened to me that night and it wasnt god nor the devil that came to me and after the experience i was changed to someone who was no longer weak with eyes open and able to fight to my very core for my own independence to prevent anyone to change who i am to suit their wants and desires.
Based on both the video and album artwork, this song is about the birth of Papa Emeritus. The album artwork features Papa standing atop a tall building, overlooking a Gotham-like city, having thrown a woman off the top. The video also features this image at the end, but goes into further detail. Papa Emeritus goes from a student, brought into a secret, power-wielding organization which wants to control mankind to and adult, the figurehead of this "global elite." In the end, the human that will become Papa Emeritus rejects this power and escapes the NWO type society by flinging himself off a building, only to be reborn as Papa Emeritus and return power to the people.
The lyrics build on this theme. Papa wears a crown of independence, having refused to join the hidden power structure. His fall from the pinnacle to the street below ultimately leads to his rebirth, and a return of power to the people.
I honestly think this is about the Devil ... Simple as that.
