You know that it's fake if it's in the news (home)
So I let it fly when I'm in the booth (ah)
The devil a lie and I been the truth (ha)
Livid 'cause nobody livin' and nobody gettin' it

Rain down on us (ha)
Holy spirit, come down (ooh)
Holy spirit, come down (ah)
We need you now
Wash us in the blood (ooh)
Whole life bein' thugs (ah)
No choice, sellin' drugs (no)
Genocide, what it does
Slavery, what it does

Kanye West’s new song, Wash Us in the Blood featuring Travis Scott gives vibes that bring us back to the yeezus days. What’s different about it is that it’s a lot more spiritual or holy as some may say. His loyal fanbase is absolutely loving it. To them, this song gives hope that old Kanye is still in there. The mashup between Yeezuz and Jesus is iconic and brought many people back to a different era.

The release of this song was Kanye’s first statement of the movement for racial justice and a lot of other problems happening in America right now. He refers back to gospel samples as he expresses his opinion on things like the death penalty and how it contradicts the sixth commandment “Thou shalt not kill”.

In my opinion, this song is a smooth mashup of Kanye’s old form along with his newfound faith, politics, and big problems going on in this world right now. It is a motivational boilerplate that could open up the eyes of many listeners to what is going on.

Kanye West's song "Wash Us in the Blood" is a song off of "God's Country" depicting the trials of living in a "jezebelic" world.

Initially, the song copes with the lives of the unfortunate, particularly minorities who are predisposed to a life of crime, violence, incarceration. It is not out of choice that swaths of people have to live this form of life. The ultimate freedom would be to have the rain wash away this outcome for so many people.

Kanye West calls on the spirit of the Holy Ghost to help resolve these outcomes for the unfortunate. The rain is a cry for the "holy spirit" to help resolve the less fortunate, as Kanye West so aptly states in a middle verse. Here, he touches on broader issues of execution, "dodging" time in prison, and lives being lost in the federal prison system. In true Kanye fashion, he addresses his own standing in the world and icon status. He laments that his position will produce calmer, lesser versions of his talent. Kanye despises being censored or edited, as he feels his artistry is the voice of many. He doesn't want to lose God despite this arbitrary claim, as he thanks God for getting him so far ahead in life. He goes so far to call himself a truth-seeker, and ultimately closes his song with the acapella chorus that is reminiscent of choral hymn.

He remind the listener that we will always need God.

Kanye West’s new single, “Wash Us in the Blood”, presents a view of America of both race and faith. His look at America shows that it is divided, and this track is focused on representing his mindset on these events. America needs a blood rain to save black Americans from evil as water is no longer strong enough to wash away the sting of the past. Kanye focuses on his faith to invoke God throughout the song, touching on his musical roots in blues and gospel. This is the first time we have heard Kanye rap again since his song, “Jesus is King”. In this track, Kanye raps in short bursts with a drawl at the end. The end result is almost that of a preacher adding a jolt of energy behind Kanye and the song. “Wash Us in the Blood” is Kanye’s way of sharpening his anger, resulting in a powerful song that represents what he hopes is a lesson for America and a revelation.

Kanye’s Wash Us In the Blood, is a very strong and powerful song that I truly respect. A lot of celebrities have chosen to remain silent during the Black Lives Matter movement and that is very disappointing. They have such a huge platform that they could utilize to help fight injustice and yet they choose to remain silent. This is not what Kanye choose to do and the normal passion he puts in his music is seen completely throughout these lyrics.

“So I let it fly when I’m in the booth, the devil is liar and I been the truth" is about how many of the news stations and magazines are not telling the whole truth. The people hiding the truth about what is going on in the world are the devil and he is saying that he raps to tell the world the real struggles and truth that the world is facing.

He goes on to ask God to finally come and save the people that are being killed. So much blood has been spilled and it needs to stop. There needs to be someone who comes and intervenes and the intervention would be most helpful from a higher power. It is a song that is full of emotions and will make anyone who listens to it agree that there needs to be a change to improve the world we are living in.

On the last day of June 2020, Kanye West teams up with Travis Scott to release “Wash Us in the Blood.” The song title is a reference to “Washed in the Blood” as mentioned in the bible which means accepting the free gift of salvation. Salvation seems to be a strong point of the song as cleansing and being washed in the blood, or saved, is mentioned numerous times in the song. The song’s base message talks about how nobody can save any of us besides being “washing in the blood,” no matter what people do.

In the bridge of the song, both Kanye and Scott talk about the Holy Spirit, and ask the Spirit to come down to help those in need. Just a couple of lines over, Scott raps about how execution is still happening to the majority of the United States even though the bible mentions “Thou shall not kill, I shall not spill.” This is a crazy connection recently due to the protests that broke out over the death of George Floyd and this song being referenced and made months before the protests broke out. This connection, to a lot of people, is bizarre due to the activities and the protests that have happened since and how they can be connected to a song “made” in the past. Overall, just like Black Parade by Beyoncé, this song contains important and efficient messages about current events and will become a historic song.

What the song means to me and my opinion Kanye was talking about all that is wrong with the world, America in particular-the thug life, selling of drugs, gang fights and that they all had no choice. He’s asking God to come down and solve all our problems, he wants God to was us in his blood. This song is deep- touched my soul, makes me remember the vices I have been involved in and now I want to turn to God. I will rate this song 8/10.

Factual research Mass incarceration, United States still locks people in a large population in both federal and state prisons (Kanye tried his best to stay away from such places) for example, the story of the five boys in “When They See Us”. In about 28-30 states in United States, penalty for some vices is death murder, genocide.

What Kanye West means Kanye West wants God to cleanse the earth, wants non-stop rain to wash away our sins, wants the sun to shine on us anew. He grew up on the street but left that all behind, he found God who made him whole again. He wants the Holy Spirit to come down and help us. Now the street does not want him to say all these, they want him to be quite and calm about it all. The news does not say the truth, all tey say is fake. It was not easy for him at first but God saved him.

Love in a Vacuum
'Til Tuesday
Well, in my opinion this song is about being a young & maybe a little naive &/or introverted girl and finding yourself loving a man who is at first very charming, carefree & outgoing, and seems at first to be without limits, as in "There was a time you opened up every doorway you didn't mind if everything wasn't your way" then that man starts to gradually become more introverted & shows their more possessive/obsessive side to you as the relationship progresses, even while they keep up the appearance of being carefree & outgoing to everyone else, "Don't pull away that goes against what you told me I look in your eyes I realize what you've sold me is love in a vacuum" so you confront them about the way they're acting and of course they deny it, "I think you've changed but you insist that that's not true" quite possibly they are an addict of some sort, my guess would be cocaine, &/or showing very obsessive behavior towards you (early on in the video for this song we see the man hanging a picture up, it is a very large portrait of Aimee & it is prominently displayed in his/their apartment for the duration of the song), thus their "love in a vacuum", "You look so strange, so distant that you're hardly you Now I can see how you have been acting different You say it's me but I know that it isn't it's love in a vacuum" but still you are in love with them and don't want to leave them and you know that they are truly in love with you and they don't want you to leave them either, maybe they are convinced you can save them from themself, maybe they are so broken that the possibility of an overdose &/or suicide attempt is very real and you want to get through to them that their behavior not only dangerous but it is also just pissing you off and if they don't wise up they run the risk of loosing you, as in the lines "You will be lonely if you leave me alone", so you want to save them but can't get through to them due to the addiction &/or emotional problems they have, "Love in a vacuum and that's not enough love in a vacuum You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way You will be lonely if you leave me alone You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way it's just not enough" you want them to understand that the love they are giving you is not enough when it is filtered through the vacuum of their drug addiction &/or emotional impairment, "You will be lonely you'll be the only one who feels this way it's just not enough and just wait you will be lonely Love in a vacuum Love in a vacuum and that's not enough Love in a vacuum". 'Love In A Vacuum' for me is a hauntingly truthful acute argument on the loneliness of obsession and almost inevitable loss of love that follows people who are broken in some way or another; the obsessives, the coke heads, the drunks, addicts or the just-plain-old emotionally broken; a razor sharp, lyrically driven, deceptively poppy, yet ultimately-depressing-in-the-best-way song. Quintessential Aimee Mann.

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
