Astral Romance Lyrics

A nocturnal concerto
candlelight whispers me where to go
Hymn of gathering stars as my guide
whilst I wander on this path of the night

Embroidery of the stars
undress my feelings for this earth
Send me your salva to heal my scars
and let this nakedness be my birth

Macrocosm poured its powers on me
And the hopes of this world I now must leave
The nightwish I sent you centuries ago
has been heard by those
who dwelled in a woe

The distance of our bridal bed
Await for me to be dead
Dust of the galaxies take my hand
Lead me to my beloved´s land

Departed by the guillotine of death
I received a letter from the depth
The dream of my lover it carried inside

Caressed by the sharpest knife
I asked you to be my wife
Rays of the setting sun
were my tears wept upon promises undone

Come to me
Make me believe
to you and your love again

Above the universe
Beneath the Great Eye
I shall desire you forevermore

This is a song about two lovers who committed suicide to be together in the afterlife... They needed to apart, but the love still was in their hearts... She is naked, above the nocturnal sky, and claims to the macrocosm forces to give to her beloved a letter about her feelings... When he discovers about her feelings and her suicide, he takes to him the same destiny and, finally, in the afterlife, they can be together, as they can't in the material world...

AerithBR... very nice. but I always thought... She is entering the realm of dead, she is free from the bounds of this world, and she is happy, because the light of afterlife is leading her to her beloved one. And in this moment we hear him singing (Tuomas's beautiful voice!!), that in the moment of his death he found out about her love. In the moment of dying he asked her to marry him, to be by his side. And now she died they can finally fulfil their dream and be together.

It is a song with deeper meaning. Not but the story it is about. It is about love itself. That there is nothing more important and eternal than love. That there is nothing to stop love, not even death.

I'm surprised nobody has said this. The intro and the reprise of the intro is the tune to Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb'.

This song is amazing and the vocals are done very nicely. I'm not sure exactly on what this song is about other than about two lovers and the guy asking the girl to marry him.

Wow AerithBR I didn't know that. That's a beautiful song.

Hits the nail on the head with nightmarish punctuation and grammar.

Sashaboy; Jesus, I never noticed that & I love both songs :D

Lord... how did you notice that? You can barely hear it in the background of Comfortably Numb. It's barely the same tune anyways. Interesting though.

Yeah i see where you get that Sashaboy; the bassline to Comfortably Numb is almost like a simplified version of the guitar in the intro

Anyway, I personally believe that the Angels Fall First version of this is nothing short of horrible... yet the version on the Over the Hills EP is just amazing. I just don't like Nightwish's heavier songs, most of which are on Angels Fall First

LOVE Toumas' voice. Really really wish that he had sung Century Child. It seems like it looses so much meaning with Tarja. I mean, I like her voice, but the words are from Toumas' soul and you can really tell that they don't mean much to Tarja...
