Something takes a part of me.
Something lost and never seen.
Everytime I start to believe,
Something's raped and taken from me... from me.
Life's got to always be messing with me. (You wanna see the light)
Can't they chill and let me be free? (So do I)
Can't I take away all this pain. (You wanna see the light)
I try to every night, all in vain... in vain.

Sometimes I cannot take this place.
Sometimes it's my life I can't taste.
Sometimes I cannot feel my face.
You'll never see me fall from grace

Something takes a part of me.
You and I were meant to be.
A cheap fuck for me to lay
Something takes a part of me.

Feeling like a freak on a leash. (You wanna see the light)
Feeling like I have no release. (So do I)
How many times have I felt diseased? (You wanna see the light)
Nothing in my life is free... is free

Chorus

Boom na da mmm dum na ema
Da boom na da mmm dum na ema
Go!
Some...die!! something on the...
Die...some things they fight
So...something on the...
Die...some things they die
Die...something of the
No...some things they die
Die..something of the...
Fight...some things they dddiiee
Chorus
Part of me...
Oh...

This song's about being treated like a freak on a leash (and hence the title). Its about being suppressed and abused and at the same time being paraded around in a cage for everyone to see... The chorus of the song is, in my opinion, one of the best ever.

This song is regarded by many as not just the best Korn song but the best in the genre of nu-metal.

To Duke724, if you don't like korn why are you here? It's not fair to come here and verbally abuse these fans, they are not Satan worshippers and neither are Korn (spelt with a backwards k!).If you hate Korn thats fine but why do you have to start the third world war over it?

LOL what a knob you are Duke724! Just because KoRn are rock/metal does not make them Satanist and if you listen to this music does not mean you are a Satanist. You obviously belive a very crap sterotypical view on this sort of music. I bet you think Scottish people go around in kilts going "Och aye the noo" and that Welsh people shag sheep. Get a life. Did you not think that the people who are posting at 6:16am might be in a different time zone!? You are a naive piece of shit.

this song is great, and all korn haters can so stick their opinions in all orifices for all i care, JD wrote about personal demons, how he cant control whats happening in the world, and no point trying, and also mentioning the fact that no matter the issues there are always worse ones out there, and to everyone labelling korn "nu-metal" "alternative" and whatever, JD has said time and again, they dont like being labelled and they dont play to a particular genre, they push the boundaries of rock and fuse all types of styles, fieldy plays rap/hip hop bass influence, munky got his roots from band like zeppelin, sabbath, metallica etc, and JD can sing in melody, scream his guts out and growl like a v12 with a kickass muffler, cant label this band, if you think you can argue me on it, feel free

To be true with that Duke guy (If he is still pathetic enough to be reading this shit.) I really am a goth, and I really am a Satanist. Korn, is NOT a satanic band. Far from it. Mayhem, Marduk, Behemoth, Gorgoroth THESE ARE SATANIC BANDS! I was Brain washed as a child in school to follow Christainty like a sheep. As I grew older I started to see the Truth (IMO). So I'm a Satanist now, what of it? We don't really eat babies and sacrifice virgins and drink their blood. We are like most other religions (Except Christanity which is all "Shun The Heretic!" "Kill the Muslims" "Gays and Unbelievers will Suffer and burn in a fire untill the end of time!") we are actually a peace loving religion.

Back to the case of Korn Being Satanic... Korns lyrics are mainly about bullying at school and stereotyping (Which I can relate to). Let Me Enlighten You:

"Anger inside, comes within my body. Why do you hit me? What have I done? You tried to hit me! Try and hit me again, if you like! Throw your hate at me with all your might! Hit me cause I'm strange. hit me! Tell me I'm a pussy and your harder then me... What's with you boy? Think hard!"

While satanic bands sing about...well I don't know SATAN?!?!?!

people are immature. i wanted to come to this page and see how people intemperate the song. too bad everyone's having a korn vs. no korn debate. go somewhere else and do that. someone please post an actual song meaning.

if anyone cares i think this song is about his efforts being stepped on and he feels like he's being held back. maybe its about his own fame (the cheap fuck part suggests groupies) and how he wants to do more with his/their music. maybe its about the struggles of becoming successful in the music industry. obviously they did become successful but they started out like every other band just trying and its a lot of work. maybe he finds the fame overrated and wasn't what he thought it was going to be when he first aspired to get to this point.

im not a stupid ass duke i know that my name combines to make heather.....hahaha seriously...im sorry for what i said earlier....but i dont understand why ur being so steriotypical.......???? i can understand why someone as close minded as u can think that we worship satan. Its all about insecurity and generalizing. Ur grouping one person with the other just because they listen to the same music....i understand that there are metal heads and punks and goths but seriously why is there a label put on it? I am like the biggest preppy girl in the world and i listen to KoRn as well as cradle of filth and slipknot. What does that tell u??? i went to church yesterday??? what does THAT tell u??? so just think about what ur saying......i hope u understand... ~heather~

You must be naive to call everyone who listens to KoRn satanists. If you must know I'm acctually a Christian and i have been baptised. Looks like your sterotype has been destroyed by me. Your the fucking loser.

Corpse I Fell In Love With
Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
