Snowblind (Black Sabbath cover) Lyrics

What you get and what you see?
Things that don't come easily
Feeling happy in my vein
Icicles within my brain
(Cocaine)

Something blowing in my head
Winter's ice, it soon will spread
Death would freeze my very soul
Makes me happy, makes me cold
(Cocaine)

My eyes are blind but I can see
The snowflakes glisten on the tree
The sun no longer sets me free
I feel there's no place freezing me

Don't you think I know what I'm doing?
Don't tell me that it's doing me wrong
You're the one that’s really a loser
This is where I feel I belong

Crystal world with winter flowers
Turns my day to frozen hours
Lying snowblind in the sun
Will my ice age ever come?
(Cocaine)

My eyes are blind but I can see
The snowflakes glisten on the tree
The sun no longer sets me free
I feel there's no place freezing me

personally in terms of the song versions the beats take different impacts

the sabbath version is the person is secretly aware of his addiction and is depresed because he cant get rid of it, thus the slower version (i think)

the Soad version is more lively, like a Blizzard than a light drift. it takes on the impression of a bit more of a party and the person loves it, but very deep inside denies it subconciously.

no need to say about the "dont you think i know what im doing" bit, thats obviously when someone speaks to them about it and warning them that they are taking it too much

yea...this song is by black sabbath...and it is about cocaine.....ozzy did every type of drug known to civilized man since 1540 A.D.

Hey, maybe this song is about cocaine. WOW, A REVELATION!

This is one of the greatest songs from System, Serj really talks about his life through his music. This song does talk about cocaine, but not just that, it's about how he feels on cocaine, and what a sensation it is. How he can sort of be in his own "frozen" world and no one can say anything.

this song is by Black Sabbath you dog

Not Valid

Sorry to disagree guys...but the song is actually a Black Sabbath cover from Naitivity in Black...still a damn awesome song, one of the best of it's time (but I'm not doubting it isn't about drugs according to Serj, he really "does" talk about his life through his music, too right).

yeah, serj didnt write this, its a cover done by system, but the song (by system of course) still kicks ass

I think this version is better than the Black Sabbath version, mainly because the Black Sabbath version sounds cheesy. Plus you can just imagine Serj's face when he sings, "Crystal world with winter flowers Turns my day to frozen hours "

Plus the added violin section is a nice touch.

SOAD version also cuts a part out of the original Sabbath Version! Right before the "Don't you think I know what I'm doing?" bridge Black Sabbath's verison has the verse

"Let the winter sun shine on Let me feel the frost of dawn Fill my dreams with flakes of snow Soon I'll feel the chilling glow"

I think SOAD version sounds better, though Ozzy sounds more "high" singing than Serj does (Serj sings more like he is on speed or uppers) but all aroud I think It was a good change!

It was originally [Verse - Bridge - Verse - Bridge] the two bridges fit together nicely (SOAD version), but the second "Verse" really hurt the Sabbath original whilst listenng to it now.

Yes, I think both versions kik ass!! But SenselessNoise you're rite, the Black Sabbath version is a little cheesy.
