Ay yo, Alicia
What's up, Kandi?
Man, these Jane Does be killing me thinking they slick wit it
For real, drop the beat
Alicia Keys
Kandi
Collabo

Let's talk about the situation
'Bout how you came with information
That's negative in every which way
Just dissin' my man and our relations
You say he's cheatin,' want me to leave him
I've changed my mind, I think I'll keep him
Listenin' to you will leave me lonely
That's not what I'm tryin' to be

'Cause I'll be crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no
Just crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

Don't you turn and check my man out
How 'bout you 'splain what that's all about
Think you slick like I wouldn't know
But I got something for you, Doe
Mess around end up in a choke, hold
Girl, I think it's time for you to go
Away from my man and me
That's the way it's gonna be

'Cause I'll be crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no
Just crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

I love my man
He loves me more
He may not be the perfect man
But I don't plan to let him go for Jane Doe, oh oh

'Cause I'll be crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no
Just crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

Crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

'Cause I'll be crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no
(Jane Doe)

'Cause I'll be crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

Just crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

Crazy to let my man go
And let some other Jane Doe
Come and try to steal him, oh no, oh no

"cause i'd be crazy to let my man go, and let some other jane doe come in try to steal him.." this line really stood out to me. i feel like it told me, "amber, if you really love danny what are you doin lettin that dumb broad try to take him from you?" and to think she almost had him....uh uh..thanks alicia i think i'll go get my man back.

Yeah this is definetely another one of those all-too-common love predicaments that we girls constantly find ourselves in the middle of. All I gotta say is dont let nobody take your man, but dont be a fool and fight over him, cuz he very well may be playing ya ass. Oh yeah, and never, NEVER pick homeboy over ur homegirls, cuz when its all said and done, relationships may come and go, but real friends are forever.

This song is so like Jill Scott's "Gettin in da way". Both songs have the same meaning. And that is, it is about another girl (more likely an ex of your boyfriend) who tries to convince you that he is not over her, while at the same time, tries to win him back again. And basically, obviously, the songs display words that you would definitely be saying if that happened to you; tryin to pick a damn good fight with her to keep your man. I love songs with these comebacks! =D

    Song Meaning

Oh, I am soooooooooo feeling this song. Sht's been happening this weekend with my boyfriend's ex winding me up by saying things to him. Her best friend has also got involved and it's like, seriously get a life! As if he's going to take your side over me! These girls are so deluded to think that our partners will ever get back with them. Girls, you know when your guy is head over heels for you! As if she even stood a chance, silly btch!

Just wrote this lyric on my staus on Facebook:

I love my man He loves me more He may not me the perfect man But I don't plan to let him go for

True to the core. Loving Alicia for this song! It's so true to me and it will so do the job i.e. wind up that skank of an ex girlfriend! Hah!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
